Wednesday, June 16, 2010. The final product (with no help at all from the wife! Posted by Rachel Kate. Labels: Things Im loving. Things I'm loving, not loving. Thursday, June 10, 2010. Most of mum's side of the family in one photo! Half or more are overseas in various places). Yes, they voluntarily did that hand signal). Things I'm loving not so much. That I probably only see them once every 5 years or so. Beautiful winter mornings from our deck! Scrummy home cooked meals! Cabinets made with love! Then p...

Friday, July 30, 2010. Old pair of jeans. Fabric for the top half of the apron. I only used about 1/4 metre). Embellishments (buttons, ribbon, bows, lace, etc). First I cut out the old pair of jeans. Cut along the side seams. Cut the length of the jeans to how long you want the bottom of your apron to be. For the tie around the waist you can either cut around the belt loop and use that or what I did was to just cut if off and then insert a pretty belt using up some fabric scraps. For the top half. Sew st...

Rachel Kate: September 2009

http://stephengartonismyhero.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Spent, Sore and Swindled. Thursday, September 24, 2009. As in, completely and utterly exhausted. I don't even have kids to use as an excuse either. But, on the up-side after I've enjoyed a good moan, I'm going on holiday in 2weeks. To start a new chapter in my life complete with fresh vision and dreams, to rest, to draw closer to God and my new husband, and to capture anew the meaning of why we're here on this earth. Posted by Rachel Kate. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. My dress is finished! We had the f...

Re-inventing the date night. Thursday, March 26, 2009. So last Sunday afternoon we made dinner. Together for Mum and. I know, who has rhubarb flan for dinner right? But anyway, I was surprised at how well it turned out! Not because we can't cook or anything, just because it was a new recipe and the rhubarb wasn't quite up to its usual standard. So on that riveting note, I thought about re-inventing the date night to come up with some different ideas. Here are some of our ideas so far. This lack of public...

Nina's stuff 'n things: January 2010

http://ninasstuffnthings.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Nina's stuff 'n things. All that is within me bless Your holy Name. Saturday, January 2, 2010. So on New Years Eve the 'crew' got together to see the new year in (me, Tim, Kate and Ray). On discussing our last years hopes and dreams and if they had come to pass, we all decided to create 'a list' of 10 things we'd like to achieve in 2010. Then the next suggestion comes from the ever inspiring Kate, "why don't we flick open this book (called '101 things to do before you die') and whatever you open it up to...

Nina's stuff 'n things. All that is within me bless Your holy Name. Tuesday, September 22, 2009. So the 'Canons' hit the road lastnight and headed for Auckland. What unfolded over the next several hours might give you some giggles:. Wife began trip with a very good hair day. We drank two bottles of V. We never drink V. It was on special. Wife drove most of the way as husband said, "you're the better driver.". Wife liked the comment and said to husband, "you're the better navigator.". Found a Turkish cafe...

Little Dee: September 2008

http://thelittledee.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; that's me. Sunday, September 28, 2008. Here’s an article I read, which I thought was pretty cool. It’s written care of the Hubbard team(yep those guys who make cereals). For a long time, humankind survived with little or no legislation. People were expected to use their common sense, to treat others as they wished to be treated themselves, and generally to take responsibility for their actions. And for the most part it all seemed to work quite nicely. People chan...

Nina's stuff 'n things. All that is within me bless Your holy Name. Sunday, November 9, 2008. If you have ears. I've been reading a book called "Coaching 101". Although I haven't finished this book yet, one thing which keeps coming through is the point on how important it is to listen. Wow I thought a coach was someone who had all the answers. I thought they were a person who people came to because they were skilled in life and knew a whole heap about dealing with relationships and problems. It has taken...

Nina's stuff 'n things. All that is within me bless Your holy Name. Thursday, July 31, 2008. A song that came back to memory tonight:. Little boxes on a hillside. Little boxes made of ticky tacky. And they're all made out of ticky tacky. And they all look just the same. There are red ones. There are green ones. There are blue ones. There are yellow ones. And they're all made out of ticky tacky. And they all look just the same. And they all look just the same". So back to that creepy song. I wonder someti...

Wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; that's me. Sunday, February 22, 2009. Break my Heart God! I read a book over my holiday period which has completely changed me. At least I really hope it will, it's certainly changed my thinking, which is bound to change my actions. Maybe there are people reading this who'll be able to say "hey. I do that too! So, what do I do. I run. I hide. I push away those things that REALLY get me. Ok, so you need an example. I hate watching the news. Why? Well, because one ...

Wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; that's me. Sunday, June 20, 2010. Opposition. helpful for shaving hair! Yesterday morning I shaved my hair off to help raise funds for The Leukaemia and Blood Foundation. No, it's definitely not a normal look! I have to say that on Friday, I was feeling a little unwell. My stomach was doing a bit of churning and there was a little drummer boy hammering away in my head. Yea, Ow! Isn't that just like God? He knew just what I needed to help me follow through. He...

Nina's stuff 'n things. All that is within me bless Your holy Name. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Nina - over and out. Well my friends, it is with great anticipation that I announce that the Kiwifruit season has begun! If I don't write a blog for about 8 weeks. If you walk past me and I don't recognize you. If I seem to be drinking copious amounts of coffee. If I laugh at jokes that aren't funny. If I nod my head and say 'yes' or 'no' to a question that doesn't require a yes or no answer. Cut bananas in half...

http://ninasstuffnthings.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Nina's stuff 'n things. All that is within me bless Your holy Name. Tuesday, December 9, 2008. So we meet again. So what do you say to a man who has just been told he has a cancerous brain tumour? Not something I was prepared to handle this morning, but when ever is it a good time to handle a diagnosis like this? A frail, elderly man now stood before me. And with all his fears, his thoughts of a tough ride ahead of him, the first thing that came out of his mouth was this:. Sorrow came to visit us today.

My stories

Tuesday, 21 July 2015. THIS IS WHO I AM. THIS IS WHO I AM. Quite a few people have often asked who is Stephen Edward Garside? I mean we know he writes for a living, well tries to, but what’s “his” story? Well here’s a brief potted history of who I am and what I’m all about and please be warned, there are no stones unturned here and what you might find you might not like, so here goes…. The parts I do remember of my childhood are thus and like everyone else’s there are good parts and bad parts. I started ...

August 12, 2014. Middot; 3 Comments. Image sourced from: guardianlv.com). I know nothing about suffering. With all the atrocities being reported on in the Middle East regarding the ISIS terrorist movement over the past month, this has been a truth that has recently sunk even deeper into my psyche. Last month I wrote about the very real problem of human injustice. The irony was so amusing I almost laughed out loud. Freedom? Wrapped up in one of the most consumer-driven addictions available today? When the...

Teresa’s Bob Ross Party. August 9, 2015. Yesterday Teresa and I through a Bob Ross party (her belated birthday party). As no one else whom I know has actually done, we followed along to Bob Ross’s instruction in an episode of “The Joy of Painting.” A group of eight of us made our own landscape oil paintings. I have two oberservations:. Made by the group out of the leftover paints. One comment so far. August 3, 2015. But who sets the ideals anyway? If so, in what ways is it less perfect? Recently I’...
