The sun came out for the first time in 2 weeks the day we got there, so we were really lucky. It wasn t balmy like I was expecting, and there were hardly any mosquitos! Saw lots of animals and got back to nature. Considering a career in wildlife photgraphy after this trip. The only downer was the 2 hour dust-filled jeep ride to get the the start of the river. My travels and other tid-bits. August 31, 2005. I'm on Crete, in a town called Hersonisos. Sun and ocean galore! I have been here for nearly a week. I had a distant contact here, and she has been super. So much so that within 10 mins of arriving, I had an apartment, and the following day a job. Sweet deal! There are lots of interesting people to meet from all over Europe, both working and holidaying. English is the common language so I do just fine! Have even met a few Aussies and Kiwis! My travels and other tid-bits. June 07, 2011. Mendoza = biking wine tasting. From Valparaiso, Chile, we headed to Mendoza, Argentina (our 4th entry in less than 4 weeks). The 8-hour scenic bus ride which crosses the Andes was well worth catching a glimpse of in the daylight. There are plenty of outdoor activites to do in Mendoza. The numero uno thing is tasting locally-produced vino by bike. Drunk driving has a whole new meaning here! The roads were a little windy through The Andes. Say no more. Sold!

My travels and other tid-bits. November 30, 2005. It's the city of York's moto. I went for a night and a day this week. Needed longer. It's an amazing city, with far more history and ghost stories than I realised! I went on a Ghost Walk in the evening, which was enlightening.
