Badin Historic Museum Home Page
In 1913 a French company began work on a dam at the narrows of the Yadkin River to generate electricity for an aluminum smelter. A town to house workers grew beside the future lake, and Badin, NC, was born. The French left with the advent of World War I, and sold the project to ALCOA in 1915. By 1917 Badin had become a permanent settlement. In 1983 Badin was placed on the Register of Historic Places, and in 1990 the town incorporated.

Lawndale, North Carolina. The Mooney/Mauney family cemetery is located just north of Lawndale, North Carolina, approximately 35.443 N 81.5735 W. From NC 182 in Lawndale, head north on Casar-Lawndale Road about 2¼ miles and turn left on Mauney Road. The cemetery's driveway will be on your immediate left. In satellite view on Google Maps you'll see just the driveway and the covering of trees. He was born in 1842. About 1868 he married Mary Lucinda Peeler, who was born in 1848 to David and Eliza Peeler.

Train Excursion to Asheville, NC. October 13, 2013. In 2013 I was pleasantly surprised to be able to book a seat in a dome car. So on Saturday I headed to Salisbury and did their home tour and spent the night so I could arrive bright and early (OK early, anyway) on Sunday morning to catch the train. 各位親愛的朋友，在馬來西亞國慶日這天，我又搬家了～！我的部落格又要搬家了～！ 網址是 http:/ www.wretch.cc/blog/stevelee07. 今年的國慶日，我需要一個公平對待各族、杜絕貪污腐敗、以及達成馬來西亞人的馬來西亞！ 在暑假回家期間，和家人去了新加坡旅遊。想起來真的很久沒有到新加坡了，剛好上孔師兄在新加坡所以我們就去看看，有沒有什麼改變。 恰逢我們去的時候靠近新加坡的國慶日8月9日。我觀察到一項非常有趣的“奇觀”。在經過組屋的時候，我發現幾乎每一棟組屋的每一個單位都掛上國旗。我就問上孔師兄這是不是政府規定的，他回答說不是。這點是否能證明新加坡人更加愛國呢？我不知道。不過整個景觀看起來就十分的壯觀。 我們也去了一些旅遊景點。這個我更加感觸了，其實馬來西亞的資源比新加坡更加的豐富，但是我們卻無法做到像他們一樣的水準。這絕對是根管理有關係。若馬來西亞政府可以將這些旅遊景點做的更好，就可以吸引更多的遊客。很可惜，馬來西亞政府卻放棄了！ 具有國際水準的飛禽公園 (Jurung Bird Park). 回家囉，準備晚餐，花了2個小時準備了不算豐盛ᦁ...今天在MSN上和人家聊...
