The rest of the shots I got there were within a couple hours of sunrise or sunset since the light got pretty harsh around midday. Monday, March 26, 2007. I looks like time has gotten away from me. The Dry Tortugas. Seem like ancient history to me now. I've done a lot of traveling since then and taken a lot of photos. I stayed in the Homestead area until Sunday when I went to a little church that met at a theater. Then I moved on to the west along the Tamiami. Saturday, October 27, 2007. I'm afraid this has not been a very productive week for me photographically. I spent a lot of time looking for birds I couldn't find, visiting friends and relatives, and a little recovering. The good news is that after one good night's sleep I felt almost back to normal on Wednesday. Other than sea sickness that was the only illness I've had to deal with on this trip. Thank you Lord. Monday, January 15, 2007. Home Sweet Home for The Road. My truck and camper are now ready to go! Here you see Sean Dempsey at his dealership in Wisconsin (www.go-anywhere.us) installing my Four Wheel Camper on my Ford Ranger. I'm grateful to Sean for the deal he gave me on this 2002 camper and for the great travel advice he and his wife let me in on while I was there. It was quite a learning experience. Saturday, August 25, 2007. Leaving Alaska and On To Yukon. More on the town later. Sorry to say the Rock Ptarmigan eluded me once again. I got a lot of exercise looking for it, they like the higher elevations, and I did get some other photos. I actually got these shots of Willow Ptarmigan the night before. Saturday, July 21, 2007. Greetings from Tok, Alaska. I'm at a RV park that has free wireless so I thought I would do another post. From Haines I took the Haines Highway over the Haines Summit. The road is very beautiful, especially as it passes through British Columbia. I went through the area a few years ago in the fall and it was really spectacular then. I'm going to try to come back this way again toward the end of August or early September to get some fall color shots. I even got some rainbow shots.
