Heather Stanton @ Blogspot: June 2007
http://heatherstanton.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Heather Stanton @ Blogspot. Views on the news, politics and other current affairs, from the perspective of a current UK student. Saturday, 2 June 2007. Apologies for my absence again - as has been the case for many of my NUCF blogging colleagues, exams have pretty much taken over my life in the past few weeks. However, my last exam was yesterday, and so now I can continue to write in this blog as I attempt to get along in something called "the real world", apparently! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

How the Euro is Doomed | Chameleons on Bicycles
https://chameleonsonbicycles.wordpress.com/2006/05/28/how-the-euro-is-doomed
As discussed in Prime Minister’s Questions! How the Euro is Doomed. Posted by David in Europe. The Euro, the final result of years of currency market intervention tantamount to market rigging, restrictive economic practices and visionary dogma, was introduced in 2002. Its effects have been as predicted, though most Eurozone nationals have found it a harsh wake up call, and its many symptoms and side-effects will only become more evident as the malaise of restrictive practices takes control further. Tory Graft: Oh for the dignity of a coronation
http://torygraft.blogspot.com/2007/05/oh-for-dignity-of-coronation.html
Thursday, 31 May 2007. Oh for the dignity of a coronation. Contrast this with the deputy leadership contest and the grubby and undignified way in which they have conducted themselves - lynching Margaret Hodge for example, in her attempts to start a discussion (albeit a rather ill-conceived one), and I begin to wonder whether a coronation is so bad after all. Tory Graft: March 2007
http://torygraft.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 18 March 2007. Let's Hope Selling Peerages is Not Too Heinous. Apparently, the arch-twit of the Labour cabinet (a competitive title, but well-deserved), Lord Falconer, has said that there are some people who should die behind bars because 'people expect that'. This sort of thing infuriates me. Why do we bother having a professional judiciary if people are going to be sentenced by calumny in the media! And if we should allow this new form of public trial, I would imagine that Lord Falconer would h...

Tory Graft: Cameron and Rhetoric
http://torygraft.blogspot.com/2007/06/cameron-and-rhetoric.html
Monday, 18 June 2007. When in opposition, it is very easy to become overly reliant on rhetoric. Naturally, when unable to influence the actual way in which the country is run, it is easy to relapse into the typical sit back and moan mentality and wait until the electorate becomes sufficiently disillusioned with the goverment and agree with you. Tory Graft: Brown's New Cheerleader
http://torygraft.blogspot.com/2007/07/browns-new-cheerleader.html
Sunday, 1 July 2007. After my last post, I've just listened to Question Time and, apparently, Piers Morgan is Brown's new cheerleader - so it's not all going well then. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Views from the centre right, with specific reference to the Toon. View my complete profile.

Newcastle University Conservative Future: Thatcher! The Musical
http://nucf.blogspot.com/2007/03/thatcher-musical.html
Thursday, March 01, 2007. Newcastle CF went to see. On Thursday 1st March at Newcastle's Northern Stage. It was a thoroughly entertaining night and the musical was brilliant - even if we didn't always agree with how things were being portrayed. One thing that struck us was how well all of the women playing Margaret Thatcher pulled off her voice - it was very convincing. The musical begins with Margaret Thatcher appearing in a giant handbag - Narrator Maggie. She was dressed in a camouflage dress. Others ...
