Little Legions: Austrian 1809

http://www.stevenkelly1.blogspot.com/p/napoleonic.html

A Blog About Wargaming. Invasion of Britain AD43. The 1809 campaign in Germany using Adler Miniatures. In 1809, the Austrians invaded Bavaria, a close ally of Napoleon, What followed was for me, the most interesting campaign of the Napoleonic wars. I won't go into any detail here but, for those interested, have a look here - LINK. Only 1 scale for me when considering Napoleonics, and that's 6mm! Here's a link to my planned army and how it is organised - Austrian Army - Dropbox. Collar and cuffs, violet.

Little Legions: Crusades update

http://www.stevenkelly1.blogspot.com/2015/06/crusades-update.html

A Blog About Wargaming. Invasion of Britain AD43. Sunday, 28 June 2015. I got these two bases done a little while ago for my Crusades army for Impetus. I have rebased the 2 command stands that I made up for Hail Caesar as ive decided that Impetus is the game that ill be playing. Here is King Richard, based as Crusader Knights, with general. This is another Crusader Knight base, with an attached General, this time with Henry of Champagne in command. All my Crusaders can be seen here - CRUSADERS. Cheers Ta...

Little Legions: Later Achaemenid Persian

http://www.stevenkelly1.blogspot.com/p/later-achemendid-persian.html

A Blog About Wargaming. Invasion of Britain AD43. Originally done as a DBA army to oppose my Greeks, the Persian army has taken on a life of its own, and has grown in size, as I really enjoy painting them. With the addition of a Kappadokian army, its now a good size to take on the Greeks in Impetus. Darius III and his guard cavalry. 2 Units of Persian National cavalry. 2 Units of Colonist Cavalry. 2 units of Bactrian light cavalry. Guard infantry, with attached general. 2 units of Takabara, light infantry.

Little Legions: 40k Legion of the Damned and Deathwatch marines for sale!

http://www.stevenkelly1.blogspot.com/2015/06/40k-legion-of-damned-and-deathwatch.html

A Blog About Wargaming. Invasion of Britain AD43. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. 40k Legion of the Damned and Deathwatch marines for sale! My mass clearout continues, this time it is 2 squads of specialist Space Marines in the form of my Deathwatch Kill team, and the Legion of the Damned marines. I have hesitated for a while about selling these, because I still kind of like them, but they have never been on a gaming table, and they were painted and put in a box well over a decade ago! The Legion of the Damned.

Tales from the attic: The Great War

http://talesfromtheattik.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-great-war.html

Tales from the attic. Tuesday, 7 July 2015. I finally managed to pop round to the post office to pick up my most recent kickstarter I backed. This one has been tremendous with regular updates and has arrived in a respectable timescale. So what's in the box. The usual suspects for a Richard Borg, 12x11 hex map, cards, counters, special dice and rules with 16 scenarios. Another 2 scenarios come with the deal as well as 10 artillery models. That's all for tonight but I think this will feature again soon.

Tales from the attic: December 2014

http://talesfromtheattik.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Tales from the attic. Friday, 26 December 2014. Ice and fire pt 1. I thought I'd post my first game of lion rampant for my ice and fire themed games. It will in no way follow the books but take its own path and will have many twists and turns along the way. It starts with a scenario from the rule book whereby one force has to find and safely retrieve an escaped enemy captive. She is said to be hiding in a nearby village. Immediately Rob mobilises some men and they head out. He must find his mother quickly.

Tales from the attic: 6mm dark ages

http://talesfromtheattik.blogspot.com/2015/06/6mm-dark-ages.html

Tales from the attic. Sunday, 28 June 2015. A very brief post about a little project I am squeezing into this years lot. I had picked up a copy of dux bellorum and had many ideas for miniatures. Then it struck me, play it in 6mm on 40x20 bases. This meant a unit was a single base meaning an entire force may be just 10 bases. A quick visit to baccus and using there unit builder, I parted with about £30 for both Viking and Saxon forces and some casualty markers. Dont press the red button. University, best ...

Tales from the attic: June 2014

http://talesfromtheattik.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Tales from the attic. Monday, 9 June 2014. As if I didn't have enough projects on the go, 1 of the 2 kick starters i backed last year has reached the good bit. It's all very nice, but I can't help thinking, why did I back this, I have too much to paint already! Joking aside it's very good and I will put up new posts as I go through it. Half of the order is still being made but most of the miniatures and the rules are here. At least this one turned out ok. Dont press the red button. Sunday, 8 June 2014.

Tales from the attic: April 2015

http://talesfromtheattik.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Tales from the attic. Tuesday, 28 April 2015. Valhalla we are coming. Well now that a lot of other projects are out the way (all not painting or gaming based) it's time to get on with the show. So this weeks little update concerns these chaps. Scandinavian raiders. These are all metal minis bought to bulk out my plastic Vikings. They still need a dark wash to tone down the colour but there not as bad as the photo due to camera flash. Then some flock etc. That's all for now, maybe some more soon. My littl...

Palouse Wargaming Journal: National Gallery of Art

http://palousewargamingjournal.blogspot.com/2015/05/national-gallery-of-art.html

Marching Through History in Miniature. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. National Gallery of Art. Last week I was in the other Washington (Washington D.C., that is) for Georgetown's Commencement. Besides commencement and scheduled White House and Capitol Hill tours, I had time to revisit a few of the fantastic National Museums. Always a favorite for me is a stop at the National Gallery of Art. A few pieces always draw my attention and the Dutch Master's collection is not to be missed. May 20, 2015 at 1:45 PM.
