Stitches and SNPs

Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Glorious Mornings, Guaranteed. When I was in middle school, a restaurant called the Garden Cafe opened up across from my house. The food was sort of upscale diner. I don't really remember much about it except that they served breakfast all day and no matter what you ordered it came with your choice of muffin. Chicken parmesan? Blueberry muffin. Chop Salad? Bran muffin. Pancakes? You must like carbs, why not have an apple muffin? Pizza with caramelized onion, ham, and swiss.

Stitches and SNPs: Happiness Project: Money

http://www.stitchesandsnps.blogspot.com/2013/08/happiness-project-money.html

Monday, August 5, 2013. Yikes, summer is nearly over! I dawdled, but I finally finished my Happiness Project goal of reviewing all of my finances. I've been meaning to set up budgeting on Mint.com. It's nice to know that money will be there when we want it. First up, the bag of Penn State pasta I was given at graduation two and a half years ago - it made a frighteningly colored, but tasty Greek-influenced pasta salad. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to my little corner of the universe!

Stitches and SNPs: March 2013

http://www.stitchesandsnps.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Everybody's working for the weekend. Even pandas. Sunnyside up eggs on colcannon. Cakes for St. Patrick's Day brunch. Well, the madness is over now, but I celebrated an early win with the KU alumni association. Wave the Wheat! I've hated these pillows that came with our couch since we got them so I used some scrap yarn to crochet a new cover. I love the texture, but napping on it leaves a particularly weird impression on your face. Also, we got engaged! Links to this post. I've go...

Stitches and SNPs: September 2012

http://www.stitchesandsnps.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 30, 2012. Snack in New Braunfels. Planning my training goals (not always my training reality), for my half-marathon. Margaritas on the patio! Lot's of training runs along the Riverwalk. Geoff sat in with an old friend when his band played San Antonio. I've been learning weird things on my runs. We chicken-sat this month. They have developed some weird laying habits. Much less well known than the Alamo. Made pesto the old-fashion way. Links to this post. Saturday, September 29, 2012.

Thursday, July 21, 2011. 10 Simple Rules For Dating My Daughter. 10 Simple Rules For Dating My Daughter (when and if that time ever comes). If you pull into my driveway and honk you'd better be delivering a package, because you're sure not picking anything up. You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off of my daughter's body, I will remove them. Jeneral Mom: Baked beans

http://jeneralmom.blogspot.com/2010/02/baked-beans.html

Thursday, February 18, 2010. My mum always made these beans. I tweaked the recipe a little because her's are sweeter than I like:. Soak 1 lb beans overnight. Next morning, boil for 1 hr. In bean pot, put 1/4 cup molasses, 1/4 cup tomato paste, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 Tablespoon mustard. Quarter 1 onion, and put in pot along with the beans. Cover beans with water, and put block of salt pork on top. Cover. Bake for 7hrs at 300 degrees, then test for doneness. Keep cooking without lid for 1 more hour.

Jeneral Mom: August 2009

http://jeneralmom.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Today is P-Daddy's B-day. He took the day off work so we could go and do something fun, but then we all remembered that S goes to school now and it would be unfair to do something as a family without him. So we are at home watching movies. S and I will go to pick up the needed items to make him the Apple Pie he requested in lieu of cake after school. Here is a cute little video of L dancing with P-Daddy. The sound is messed up so you may want to mute your volume. Now all I nee...

Cerises a l’étranger. 8220;On the road again…” →. June 28, 2009 · 4:47 pm. 8220;Dream a little for me…”. I like to travel. SURPRISE! Bet you hadn’t figured that out yet. Well, it’s true. I like to travel! Unfortunately, I can’t constantly travel (nor indeed would I want to because coming home is lots of fun too). I must admit, however, that when I am not traveling, I’m generally thinking of traveling. Where do I want to go next? What’s a good excuse to go back to France? Ever fall flat on your face on to...

Sunday, April 13, 2014. How to make ballroom jewelry: the rhinestone bangle. Step one: stitch that sucker. I align the lycra edge with the rigilene edge (as best as I can) so that the lycra right side is down (if your lycra does in fact have a discernible right side) and so that the curve of the rigilene is also facing down (so you're stitching this to the inside first. Use a heavy enough needle too as this stuff is THICK! Fold over not once. Now that's a whole lotta excess fabric, so let's trim that down.
