Stitching Across the Ditch: August 2015

http://stitchingacrosstheditch12.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Stitching Across the Ditch. Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Black, white and a Smidge of Green by Kay W. Apologies for the late post. I have been away and very carefully loaded my photo onto my iPad before I went so I could post it on the appropriate day. Only problem was I forgot to take the blog's email and password, which are saved on my computer, so I could access the posting page. I did, however get my quilt mailed to Kay on time! Stitching Across the Ditch. Thursday, August 13, 2015. A big learning curve!

Stitching Across the Ditch. Saturday, October 25, 2014. Bright Sunshine for Kay by Lorraine. Bright Sunshine with lazy days, I feel summer is coming on. Enjoy your little quilts Kay. Stitching Across the Ditch. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. To myself. (feels strange). I can't seem to shake this forest/trees theme that I have, but I wanted to experiment with a really dark/black edge to the forest with the blinding "brightness" that comes with the shafts of light showing up the autumn foliage. But I got there!

Stitching Across the Ditch: Black, White and Lime by Anna

http://stitchingacrosstheditch12.blogspot.com/2015/07/black-white-and-lime-by-anna.html

Stitching Across the Ditch. Friday, July 31, 2015. Black, White and Lime by Anna. The black and white background is made from 2 fabrics with the same print but in reverse. I enjoyed weaving them together then couching the thread on top of the seams. Was good to catch up with you Kay, in Palmerston North, and I did enjoy your talk and seeing your quilts in the 'flesh'. Stitching Across the Ditch: December 2014

http://stitchingacrosstheditch12.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Stitching Across the Ditch. Monday, December 15, 2014. A Purple Christmas - Helen. Thank you everyone for the lovely quilts that we're seeing here - they will make a great display. Can anyone believe that the Silly Season is here! Packs of purple and green baubles 'caught my eye' while I was retail browsing (and trying to deny that Christmas was approaching). This lead to my purple christmas tree. Happy Christmas. Love, Helen. Stitching Across the Ditch. Thursday, December 11, 2014. Merry Christmas every...

saltbushstitch: September 2013

http://saltbushstitch.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Monday, September 16, 2013. The latest theme for our Stitching Across the Ditch challenge was 'Self Portrait'. I've always wanted to do a really colourful self portrait (as I've seen in Quilting Arts magazines) and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I traced an outline of my face from a photo and then went crazy with fabric choices! It was a lot of fun! I took heaps of photos. They truly are a magnificent animal.

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Spring has sprung . There is YELLOW everywhere! It certainly makes you feel cheerful. Saturday, September 22, 2012. A long road trip back to cool weather, an overflowing hot water system that had to be replaced, a sick daughter and two sick granddaughters who needed some care, a million loads of washing, dirty windows from the wintery weather, and a garden full of weeds! In between I keep quietly stitching .

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Wednesday, November 28, 2012. I used six different colours because that's what I had! We have been having some very hot weather and these horses were enjoying a swim the other morning. If you click to enlarge the photo you may just be able to see a dolphin out to sea to the left of the man on the left. And some trees on the beach! Thursday, November 15, 2012. I have nearly finished my Kantha piece (at long last! Under A Topaz Sky.

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Tuesday, October 30, 2012. I have made some more breast pockets for Melanie. Read about her project here. She needs a lot more pockets to reach her goal of 1000 and she has extended the deadline. Mine are made from two coordinating pieces of fabric with a button and some hand stitching added. Two of them are made from old appliqued napkins. They are quick and easy to do. And fun! Seagulls enjoying the lovely weather and calm seas.

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Friday, December 7, 2012. The theme for our Stitching Across the Ditch. I cut tiny pieces of fabric with Vliesofix on the back and then had to position them right side up on the cake! Some interesting finds on the beach lately. At the moment I am holidaying in a lovely little town on the Yorke Peninsular called Moonta. Our caravan is parked right by the seafront and this is our view every morning. The sun is just coming up and the clouds disappeared a short time later. We have walked the length of the jetty several times! May 9, 2013 at 8:33 PM. Stitching Across the Ditch.

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Tuesday, July 31, 2012. The other day we went to the Tully Show. An old fashioned country show, beautiful weather and lots of interesting things to see. They judge the bananas and the sugar cane and all sorts of exotic fruits, vegetables and flowers. Our favourite exhibits were definitely the chickens! Beautiful feathers and cheeky expressions. This one must have had a busy morning and was asleep on his feet! Saturday, July 28, 2012.

I like the layout of the tumble's in this picture and will mostly use it for my quilt. Block 27 and 15. I also finished lesson 9 of my Aim for Accuracy II. Blocks being joined in lesson 9.
