Kimball: December 2014
http://stkimball.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 28, 2014. On Christmas Eve day we took the kids up the cabin one last time for the season. Since the cabin is not finished, the caretaker will not plow to our cabin anymore. We took up our sleds as well, mostly to try and wear down the kiddos so they would sleep well that night. There was a lot of snow. A lot. Beautiful though. Have you ever tried to take a selfie with an iphone propped on a deck covered with snow and ice? Then the phone slipped. Friday, December 19, 2014. In the early y...

Kimball: The Fire Marshall
http://stkimball.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-fire-marshall.html
Wednesday, August 12, 2015. When building a cabin, you know you've got a lot of work ahead of you when the fire code documents are bigger than your cabin plans. That's what our builder found out when he went to apply for our building permit last year. Here are 2 examples. See the beautiful neon green color? That is exterior sheet rock. We are required to put sheet rock on the cabin before we put on the cedar siding. Why? Because sheet rock is not flammable. Makes perfect sense right? Drop Me a Line.

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. How to sum up an amazing vacation? 2 gallons of sunblock. That's how. Just kidding. I'll give it a shot. The highlight of the trip. We rented a house in the middle of the jungle and were regularly visited by monkeys. We even had a resident sloth in the tress in our backyard. Looking inside to see what was going on. Seriously, how cute is this? 2) Jungle night hike, zip lining and a mangrove tour. We all loved the ziplining! 3) Really good food. 4) Water and Relaxing. I came ...

Kimball: One more time
http://stkimball.blogspot.com/2015/08/one-more-time.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. I think we will call the wood hauling completed for the summer. After another full day, the area up the road and around the cabin looks much better. Plus, we are exhausted. We haven't even touched the rest of our 9 acres, but that is for many more summers to come. Owen got really dirty and tired this time. Work hard, play hard. Youre raising good kids. August 3, 2015 at 3:03 PM. You might be arrested for child abuse - HA HA! Too bad more parents dont abuse their kids with hard work.

Kimball: 4th Annual Movie Night
http://stkimball.blogspot.com/2015/07/4th-annual-movie-night.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. 4th Annual Movie Night. Luckily, she wasn't as bad as she usually is, and other than candy wrappers and popcorn cups blowing around the yard and a movie screen that folded in half a few times it turned out just fine! We have decided though that from now on, we will be showing a double feature. One for the younger boys and one for the older. It is way too difficult to find one movie that appeals from ages 7 to 15! Prepping for movie night. Hoards of boys grabbing soda. Drop Me a Line.

Kimball: October 2014

Thursday, October 30, 2014. I Shouldn't Have To Write This. Toys pushed into a pile slightly under the bed instead of put away - Since when is that o.k? A bed that is supposedly made but instead looks like there are dead bodies hiding under the lumpy blankets - You know you need to pull up the sheets right? So I did it. And it is now hanging next to the job list. You don't know what I expect? Annual Gross Halloween Dinner! Skeleton meatloaf. Gross yes? This year was slightly more edible than last! They a...

Friday, August 21, 2015. I gave up years ago trying to keep Legos contained to one area in our house. I knew it was a battle I could never win. Consequently, they are everywhere. The places that I have found them and continue to find them no longer surprise me at all. In my purse? Sure In my underwear drawer? This was a first though. Right in my drinking water. Did it bother me? Not at all. I didn't even give it a second thought. In fact, why shouldn't I find Legos in what I eat and drink? Lunch boxes an...

Saturday, September 27, 2014. Happy Birthday Big O! Our Owen turned 9 yesterday and with that came an entire day celebrating! It started out with bacon and cinnamon streusal muffins for breakfast. It was a muffin recipe I had not made before. Owen said they were "weird, but good." I'm not sure what that means. Breakfast was followed by lunch with Mom and Dad at Pizza Pie Cafe, which was then followed that afternoon by a party with yelling and active boys. Does not love taking piano. I remember taking the...

Kimball: Paper put to good use
http://stkimball.blogspot.com/2015/08/paper-put-to-good-use.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Paper put to good use. Stowed under my bed are large sheets of paper that I use for making books. I have enough of it, that my boys every so often will use them for various art or drawing projects. This past summer Taylor and Bennett have put them to good use. The other day Bennett drew up a list of his basketball dream team and taped it to his wall. Now that is some excellent summer homework! August 14, 2015 at 8:59 AM. August 16, 2015 at 3:04 PM. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Rough week for Owen. You know it's been a bad week when you end up in the doctor's office 3 times. It started out last Sunday on Mother's Day. Owen felt sick, started complaining that his head, stomache and throat hurt. These complaints continued all day and into Monday and by late Monday afternoon, he added that his eyes were hurting him as well. By late Thursday night, he finally started to perk up and on Friday morning he was better and ready to go to school. But it doesn't end t...
