Radio Christmas is a community radio station that Street Kids Direct run to raise awareness and money for the charity. It runs every other year. Anyone can get involved. It's a great way to raise money. Last year Radio Christmas made over £25,000. It runs between 1st December and the 24th December. Coin Race - Street Kids Direct

The coin race is another fund-raising event. It happens every June on the streets of Amersham! You have the boys on one side of the pavement and the girls on the other. Each team has to collect as much money as possible and lay it on the pavement. The team which gets from one end to the other and back again wins! Many people are very generous and even buses and lorries stop to hand over money! This fund-raisinng event raises lots of money and is also very enjoyable while being meaningful.

Proyecto Manuelito was founded by Jorge Pinto who was raised an orphan and knows from first hand experience what life is like growing up in very hard and challenging circumstances. During one of his trips to the streets Duncan and a volunteer team came across two boys playing by a cardboard box. 'One of the boys was ‘high’ on glue and the other boy told us that inside the box was a baby! Duncan said. He added 'we pepped inside the box and discovered a 15-day-old baby who had been abandoned by its mother that afternoon'. What is Street Kids Direct? Street Kids Direct is a charity that is run entirely by volunteers. It's aim is to help street children in Latin America by buliding homes and paying for them to go to school so that they can leave the rubbish dumps and dangerous streets behind and have a good life. The founder of this charity is Duncan Dyason. There are many volunteers within Street Kids Direct. It was founded in 2004 by three main leading volunteers : Duncan Dyason, Matt Levett and Jo Soden.
