But gentle in form. And fluid in stance. Almost like calm waves formed on the surface of a benevolent sea. The tips of snow rising above the rest like the foaming heads of the incoming tide. While the smaller hills. Bowed low in reverence. I traced their lines from this side of the window. Did I not just see.

Monday, August 3, 2015. I went out to Williams Air Field to fix a power cable. The air field is about 7 miles out of town on the permanent ice shelf. I had to drive the truck outfitted with mattracks to be able to drive off the ice road into some unknowingly deep snow. 7 miles takes a while with a top speed of about 20 mph in 4x4 low.
