I write to be rid of things. Sunday, October 14, 2012. We learned today. (We've come to Norway, part 2). This was our second Norwegian worship service - last night we attended a youth service and this morning was a for-everyone service. It was nice, and we're getting much better at pronouncing Norwegian words because of their praise songs. During the sermons, we get headphones so that we can listen to a translator. Fun fact. We also saw lots of beautifully made wooden things, like this piano. After all t...

I think today is for loving and appreciating and taking pictures and just being with people. today is for making coffee and making people smile. i want to capture all the goodness i see. i am thankful for laughing with friends until i lose my breath. i'm thankful that now i can listen to jos é. To kill, when there's a night that i don't see.

Got your update right here. And closer to His heart. He is shaping our vision for this place. It makes me so excited to think and dream about what this year could hold, and to know that the Lord has so much to reveal to us if we commit our plans to Him. Knowing, of course, that it won't be easy. but worth it. I'm excited to be able to share more now that we have internet at the house. It is good to know that so many people are praying for hope to spread its way into hearts here. I can't thank peo...By Br...

It is now, around the start of my last semester of college, when I constantly get the question, "So, what are your plans after you graduate? These are the words I dread, probably not unlike most people my age. Being in the DR again also renewed my passion and love for Dominican people and life there in general. Here are some pictures from my trip! Nena and I in Monte Cristi at a special service/dinner. Me with some beloved Jaibon boys, Galan and Imanol. Me with Jacqueline and Heather, my hermanitas.

I write to be rid of things. Thursday, October 18, 2012. The Northest (We've Come to Norway, part 6). We have a treat for you today: panoramas and a video. What? I know. The panoramas show up kind of wonky here, but if you click on them, it should be better. This morning, we awoke in Harstad. It was beautiful. We ate a lovely hotel breakfast (as usual) and hit the road. It was also cold. There was window-scraping involved. We drove and drove. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

A friend brought us down the book "Kisses from Katie" by Katie Davis, which was the most perfect gift for us and everyone should probably read it, and I haven't even gotten past the forward and already I feel like God is helping me define what's on my heart. This section is one hundred percent my heart for living here in the Dominican, and I wanted to share it with you. Attention to themselves, they simply pay attention to the everyday needs of others, even if it's only one person. They bring change ...

A little over a week ago I find myself in a little church on the property of the Jaibón orphanage, worshipping and praying with all the boys. We listen to the animated Pastor give his message and everyone is given the opportunity to lead a song. I’m singing along with tears in my eyes looking up at this special boy that is becoming a man who I know God has set apart for great things. That there are big plans being orchestrated by God and that His love is taking root in this soil of their adolescence.

Regarding Zion, I can't keep my mouth shut, regarding Jerusalem, I can't hold my tongue,. Until her righteousness blazes down like the sun. And her salvation flames up like a torch. Foreign countries will see your righteousness,. And world leaders your glory. You'll get a brand-new name. Straight from the mouth of God. You'll be a stunning crown in the palm of God's hand,. A jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God.". That still hasn't gone away. Walk out of the gates. Get going! So I'm leaving...
