SunFish Travels-NZ/Fiji: LA Nightlife
http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010/04/la-nightlife.html
Thursday, April 1, 2010. Didn't do much but hang around all day. Liam had some stuff to do and we took a walk down to Trader Joe's. That was the extent of our big day. Liam was co-hosting a neighborhood benefit show at El Cid in Silverlake that night. We really weren't sure if we had enough energy to go or not. In the end, we decided why not. Guy: "Well, we have to move the chairs" and looks at me like I have three heads. Susan: "Liam, is there dancing? Liam: "Come over here and take a look". NYT: Fly-Fi...

http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010/03/shes-lady.html
Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Note: New pictures in Bay of Islands Album. Had a great sail back - exhausted by the kayaking, hiking, and swimming, we sat along the sides and enjoyed the ride. We are now contemplating going out for dinner for our last evening in Paihia. Last night we stayed in and had steak and salad. Next time. Leigh, I promise. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SunFish Travels-NZ/Fiji: Steam Heat
http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010/03/steam-heat.html
Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Note: New pictures in Bay of Islands album. Hiked to yet another waterfall and then returned. We emerged 2 hours later totally relaxed. Back at the shack now we are planning our next step. Looks like the weather is going to be more of the same, so we are heading back south to Leigh. There we have ATCers who will take us until our flight leaves on Sunday. This is in a marine reserve, so hopefully we can get in some snorkeling. Map: Kerikeri, New Zealand. Hanmer Springs, NZ.

Sunday, March 21, 2010. This will probably be our last posting till we get back on the mainland next Friday. It really seems unreal to us that the New Zealand journey is over. We miss it already. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the sun shines tomorrow. Valentino is picking us up at 10am. Next time. Sailing to the Sun. Map: Nadi, Fiji. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SunFish Travels-NZ/Fiji: Garden of the Sleeping Giant
http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010/03/garden-of-sleeping-giant.html
Saturday, March 27, 2010. Garden of the Sleeping Giant. Big doings at the restaurant tonight. The Sunday night band showed up and so did the folks from First Landing Resort plus the rugby finals were on the telly. We watched USA lose to Australia and then Fiji lose to New Zealand. The crowd broke up after that. Dinner wasn't so good. I think it is time to go home. May go to Lautoka tomorrow if the sun is not out. Map: Lautoka, Fiji. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SunFish Travels-NZ/Fiji: January 2010
http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. This just in . What are the chances that the Sunday New York Times travel section would have a full page article on fly-fishing in South Island, New Zealand just after Mr. G buys his pack rod? Not to mention, the featured destination happens to be on our route. Now it looks like we will be spending some time in Gore on our way to Shag Point - and Mr. G will get his line wet after all. For those interested, here is the link to the article: NYT Travel Section 1/31/09. A well known...

Sunday, March 14, 2010. Bay of Islands, Paihia. Next we stopped at the famous KawaKawa toilets, which one of our hosts told us about earlier on. You will just have to look at the pictures to see what this is about (Bay of Islands Album). On Sullivans Road (owner's name is Barbara! However, for right now, it doesn't matter much what the weather does because we are very content to sit here forever looking out. All this and we have free wifi, so posting will be easy. Next time . http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010/04/last-leg.html
Friday, April 2, 2010. Liam came with us yesterday over to Nick and Steve's. He oohed and awed at all the STUFF! He split and the three of us went out for lunch. Had a good time - will see them again next fall. Went for our traditional last evening out at the Japanese Country Kitchen for some super sushi and lots of good conversation. Back at home, watched some TV and off to bed. Next time. the last entry. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Garden of the Sleeping Giant. Hanmer Springs, NZ. Shag Point, NZ.

SunFish Travels-NZ/Fiji: Land & Sea
http://sunfishtravels-nz.blogspot.com/2010/03/land-sea.html
Monday, March 15, 2010. Today it was helmets AND life jackets! Had a wonderful night's sleep and since there is a new moon, we also did some stargazing from bed! How jealous are you now? Woke up early with the sun and tried to Skype. Got a hold of Jim but Peter and Lucy didn't answer even though they looked like they were online. Put the clothes in the washer, and Barbara came down and invited us upstairs. She has the super view! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Garden of the Sleeping Giant. Bay of Is...
