Monday, October 20, 2014. We finally spotted the elusive seahorse. This male has got a fat belly full of babies. Supposedly Mrs. Seahorse is near by, as they mate for life, but we couldn’t find her. These brightly coloured ladies sell fruit and pose for tourist pictures in old town Cartegena. Just one of its many charms. The beach area outside the old city walls is called Boca Grande. Sometimes known as Little Miami. We really enjoyed the old town of Cartagena. Not sure I’d come back in November though – too still and hot! The Old Walled City.

Sunday, May 31, 2015. We spent a night in the town anchorage in light winds(16*37.6S 143*34.35W) . Then sailed down 15 miles through the uncharted lagoon to a nice anchorage on a sand spit(16*31.2S 143* 49.37W). Its pretty tiring watching for reefs as you sail along. Saturday, June 27, 2015. Playing Race Course Catch Up. Here’s the carved black pearl oyster shell we got as race hardware – ready for the trophy case. Even more important was the bottle of pineapple champagne that came with it. We didn’t do so well racing in the outriggers, but we still managed to squeeze by our friends on. Sunday, December 28, 2014. The Kunas use dugout canoes that they call Ulu to row and sail all around Kuna Yala in pretty much any conditions. Integral to using an Ulu is knowing how to bail one – a constant job. They are built out of a single tropical hardwood tree,. Here’s some photos of Kuna’s sailing around on their normal daily activities. Many live out on the islands and go to the mainland to work the coconut and banana fields each day.
