I decided that I wanted to make "Grandpa" books for Ashlee, Lexi, Sammy and Shana with all of the pics that we had of all of them with Grandpa Vern. He passed away February 2, 2009 and I wanted to make sure that the girls had pics to look at and to always remember all of the FUN times they had with Grandpa! They also got a copy of the DVD that I made for Grandpa's Memorial Service so they can watch it anytime!

Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Red Velvet Cake Recipe. This recipe is from the Gooseberry Patch Merry Christmas Cookbook. I made the homemade buttercream frosting which is from Wilton. 1 1/2 C. sugar. 2 oz bottle red food coloring. 2 tsp baking cocoa. 2 1/2 C flour. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1 tsp baking soda. 1/2 C solid vegetable shortening. 1 tsp clear vanilla. 4 C powdered sugar. 2 Tbsp. milk. Saturday, October 27, 2007. Our Trip to Chicago to See Ashlee! We left on Thursday, October 11th and that morning I just could not get out of bed and get myself going. I hit the snooze button about 10 times! We got to the hotel and this time we stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton! I will never stay anywhere else when we go visit Ashlee! Our room was like an apartment! Then I carried the body pillow that I had bought her and I had it covered in black trash bags.she did not know I was bringing it!
