SWIF Performance: October 2009
http://swifperformance.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 29, 2009. The Qualities of the Athlete and Sport? Everyday I see it published on the web, in local print advertisements and even listen as people discuss it at sporting events. Some local S.A.Q. guru has a "sport-specific" program for athletes? What does this mean? Thing that is sport-specific, is the sport itself. ALL TRAINING is generalized. There is absolutely no way of duplicating the neurological demands of the sport. There are just too many factors. Friday, October 23, 2009. I hav...

SWIF Performance: RAM TUFF!!
http://swifperformance.blogspot.com/2009/12/ram-tuff.html
Tuesday, December 29, 2009. I just wanted to "throw" some props out to the young men of the Pine Richland boys lacrosse team. I'm working with some of the players two nights a week. It's anything but a conventional "conditioning" program.go ahead and ask them. The focus is about the N.O.W. and "Long Term Development". not a quick fix. Ground contact drills and much, much more! I've started to video the sessions and will keep everyone aware of the "shows" when they are up. Call me: 724.444.3400.

SWIF Performance: Jack-In-The-Box
http://swifperformance.blogspot.com/2009/12/jack-in-box.html
Monday, December 7, 2009. Well, as the football season comes to an end, the off-season "training". Programs will be distributed to the players in preparation for next year. So, make way for the Jack-In-The-Box! The gridiron player locked inside the cage for training the squat, bench press and deadlift. Players need to step back and look at their sport. Now tell me.is it played inside a box? How many joints are involved during your game? How fast do you need to be for your game? The list can go on and on.

SWIF Performance: Sport Speed
http://swifperformance.blogspot.com/2009/12/sport-speed.html
Thursday, December 10, 2009. A question was asked of me a few weeks ago. "Can playing one sport affect my speed in another sport? The answer is YES. And depending on your desired outcome, it can affect your play in a positive or negative manner. Each sport and each position has a different set of motor qualities required to be successful. Woven within these sport demands are various ground contact times involved in sprinting, jumping and changing directions. Train the qualities needed for your game!

SWIF Performance: The Foundation
http://swifperformance.blogspot.com/2010/02/foundation.html
Thursday, February 11, 2010. It seems that I often hear about the various amounts of push-ups, pull-ups and "crunches" that my athletes perform on their own when away from the gym. And quite frankly I applaud the ambition to better themselves for their respective sports. But if you were to ask me. "what should I do? Look no further than "Lombard's Paradox". The old school body weight squat! Seek the right training for your sport! Hit me up: Shawn Moody. P: 724.444.3400. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
