Monday, October 29, 2012. Yuriko and I did a session of restorative Yoga and followed that with coffee and a pastry at the Carman Bakery. We then went for a hike on the Carman walking path. It has several footbridges (my favorite) and an amazing number of trees. Half of the time it was hard to imagine that we were walking in town. Lots of crunchy fallen leaves. Sunday, May 19, 2013. Hecla Island, May 18, 2013. Sandy, Christine, Sacha and I went on a hike at Hecla Island on the shore of Lake Winnipeg. Although it was nearly the end of May there was still plenty of ice on the lake. The ice had blown near the shore and was in little pieces that you could hear clinking together. When we were up at Cross Lake, they called it candle ice. The grass was beginning to turn green. There was a lot of ice near the boat docks. You can see the lighthouse in the distance.

Thursday, October 24, 2013. We set off from Gordes on a cool foggy morning, perfect for walking. The trail wound between the ubiquitous dry stone walls. We never got tired of the stone contrasted to the many shades of green from the foliage. Because it was so damp here, there was a lot of moss on the trees. The trail wasn't always smooth and flat! Monday, July 22, 2013. The Rae Trail Revisited. Yesterday we decided to return to the Rae Trail to see it in mid summer. The last time we went was early autumn. Here is Lori all geared up with her new hiking poles and backpack with hydration unit full of water. The trail meandered through lush bushland with lots of poison ivy lining the trail. Good thing we weren't wearing shorts. There were lots of gently rolling hills and open meadows to enjoy. This trail opened onto a meadow where we had a picnic.
