All in all a pretty good day! Posted by The Hoyt Family. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. I got sent this diary in an email and thought it was so funny! I can sympathetically relate. For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me. Belinda was...

Who’s Who | The Last Spartan
https://s301.wordpress.com/whos-who
About The Last Spartan. 8211; What can I say? 8211; My eight year-old. She’s quite the intellectual. She’s just like me. She’s a gabber and a philosopher. She’s the apple of my eye and I wish she’d stayed a toddler. A pleasant disposition and a loving child. She has more friends than I’ve had my whole life! The high-maintenance one. They don’t respect me or my culture. One of them is even anti-Greek. For the record, she can kiss my ass. Blast From The Past (BFP). 8211; The wife’s older sister. ...In fact...

The Living Wage | The Last Spartan
https://s301.wordpress.com/2009/08/14/the-living-wage
About The Last Spartan. Since late spring, we have been trying to fill a vacated position in our office. I will spare you a reiteration of how it all went down but suffice it to say that it’s perhaps the most important job in the whole operation: Coding and Billing. We employ two other women, both of whom are recent hirings. One was hired last winter and the other one merely a month before we canned the most senior of the three (and she deserved it…). What’s a fair wage for a receptionist? I don’t ...

For Health, Peace, and Chocolate-: Another journey.
http://forhealthpeaceandchocolate.blogspot.com/2011/11/another-journey.html
For Health, Peace, and Chocolate-. Sunday, November 6, 2011. The good news is that I know exactly what to do to get rid of it all and be back to my old self once more. The secret: Start running and don't stop! To make that happen, I have signed up for the Utah Valley Half-Marathon in June. I find that training for a race keeps me motivated. A friend also invited me to run the SLC Half in April, and how could I say no! So this time I am recording our journey to getting healthy TOGETHER. Let's do this!

For Health, Peace, and Chocolate-. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Post Marathon Recovery and Other Stuff. I love to ask the more experience runners about their own little tips and advice and learn as much as possible through them and also through reading, blogs, books, etc. My long, detailed race reports are in hopes to help anyone out there with the same questions I've had prior to jumping into running my first 5K to my first Marathon. Another thing I learned. Have a family member bring you a sweater or li...

For Health, Peace, and Chocolate-. Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Not just a race report. My first Marathon Report. I'd been waiting to see if I could get my pictures off my camera. For some reason it's been weird and won't let me do it. So here goes another picture-less post. You'll just have to use your imagination. I'll start with the last week of tapering. I have this book called "CHI Running" It's great! Why didn't I think of that before? Not doing that next time. Trax was super packed! And to my sister...

Jun 13, 2010. Here’s the thing of it. I pinned a number on and raced last weekend. and then i did it again this weekend. I still do that occasionally. pin a number on and race my bike. ‘race’, as always, being a strong word, cause sometimes i like to think of it as just riding my bike around in circles in which i happen to be with other people. And bribe the kids with donuts. Plus, all that racing requires a lot of training, hard work and dedication. 8221;] dismay - for junk pickup. which, as. 8220;hey ...
