Taphophile Tragics

A warm touch upon cold hard stone . Monday, November 5, 2012. Taphophile Tragics # 46. I adore ceramic grave adornments such as this one that I found in Point Clare cemetery, outside Gosford on the New South Wales Central Coast. They seem to strike just the right note. Welcome to the 46th week of Taphophile Tragics. Sydney time (GMT 11), and closes at 9:30 PM on the Friday. Monday, October 29, 2012. And why the pattern? Welcome to the 45th week of Taphophile Tragics. Your contribution is most welcome....

Taphophile Tragics: From woolcombs to whitesmithing

http://www.taphophile-tuesday.blogspot.com/2012/10/from-woolcombs-to-whitesmithing.html

A warm touch upon cold hard stone . Monday, October 1, 2012. From woolcombs to whitesmithing. Really an interesting family history. LOVE the artistic plot. October 2, 2012 at 5:35 AM. Paul @ Leeds Daily Photo. I always admire the amount of work that you put in here. I note that James died in Arncliffe, though yours rather than ours, the original village that I have featured here on my blog. October 2, 2012 at 9:25 AM. What a gorgeous stone and those beautiful railings are simply to die for. November 30, ...

A warm touch upon cold hard stone . Monday, May 28, 2012. Taphophile Tragics # 23. The Trustee of the Catholic Section of Rookwood Necropolis, has erected self-tour signage throughout the Old Catholic area. I would have totally missed this otherwise! This statue of Mary is standing on a globe of the world, and around her feet is entwined a snake eating an apple. Pretty simple symbolism to understand, but not to SEE! Welcome to the 23rd week of Taphophile Tragics. Monday, May 21, 2012. Here is another for...

Taphophile Tragics: July 2012

http://www.taphophile-tuesday.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

A warm touch upon cold hard stone . Monday, July 30, 2012. Taphophile Tragics # 32. Sometimes the expressions 'Never forgotten' and 'Always in our hearts' can be self-mocking, when one wanders around cemeteries. Of course, they are not, necessarily negated, just because a Resting Place appears uncared for. However, memory is often a treasured facility. Take this memorial out in Rookwood Necropolis in Section 12 of the Old Anglican section. Just general, rather than heritage. Sydney time (GMT 10), and clo...

View thru My Global Lens: June 2012

http://viewthrumygloballens.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

So where exactly IS home? June 28, 2012. It seems to me that in most developed countries, smoking cigarettes has to a large extent lost its appeal. Not only is there now strong social pressure against it, prohibitive taxes and legal proscriptions have made the habit inconvenient. In Asia, many people still smoke. While bans on public smoking are increasingly being introduced, in general nonsmokers remain quietly tolerant of the smoker. The culture values group harmony over personal rights. June 25, 2012.

Follow Lee in pictures and words. Sunday, July 14, 2013. Casting for a Fun? Wednesday, July 10, 2013. I have to admit that I am feeling tired and dirty today, which is understandable since I've been on the road for over two weeks and haven't had a shower since Sunday. My beard has grown into scraggly tumbleweed. I probably appear as an old cowpoke from the bunkhouse who has spent too many years sitting evenings on cheap tavern bar stools and standing during the day in too much cow shit .

At Chicago's Museum of Natural History, an amorous glance. Today we will drive through the Badlands where she roamed 110 million years ago and see some of her friends at the Rapid City Geology Museum. Special thanks to all those p...

Mort Safe

Inicialment...
