Year 3 ESOL Children have been learning to follow sets of instructions to make a fish kite. Here they acquire new vocabulary skills when constructing their kite. Tuesday, 22 November 2016. We had a great day at Muriwai. We went as part of our inquiry around Environment. We wanted to see the gannets - takapu- that go to Muriwai every October to nest and have their young. After the chicks are about four months old they leave and fly all the way to Australia. They come back to New Zealand again after a couple of years to have their own young. This sand is so soft and silky. It is black because of the iron ore. We could get really close to the gannets. Friday, 19 August 2016. Some of our fabulous Room 11 Writing . Room 11 have been doing Geometry for Maths. One of our tasks involved designing a picture out of 2D shapes, tracing around them and colouring them in to make some beautiful Geometric Art. I think that the children have done an amazing job of their Artwork! You are more than welcome to come in and see these on the back wall of our classroom. Sunday, 20 November 2016. We all had a great time at Onepoto School on Friday watching the Kapa Haka group perform and playing on the playground. Monday, 24 October 2016. All Blacks at TRS!
