http://tatteredandlosttravelingwithcharlie.blogspot.com/2013/12/charlies-christmas-1983.html
It's been 30 years since this photo was taken. I hope Charlie had many more Christmas's to come. Click on image to see it larger. December 28, 2013 at 5:06 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). ABOUT TRAVELING WITH CHARLIE. A few years ago I was given a large box of photos that contained many snapshots of a man named Charlie. The photos were taken, I believe, by his wife. They span the early to late 1980s. I know nothing about Charlie other than he is from Texas. Oh, someone is now sitting in the backs...

Tattered and Lost: Traveling with Charlie: He came into town with CHANGE IN HIS POCKET
http://tatteredandlosttravelingwithcharlie.blogspot.com/2014/05/he-came-into-town-with-change-in-his.html
He came into town with CHANGE IN HIS POCKET. Charlie was in Vegas in March, 1984. He is proudly standing, according to what's written on the back, at the Frontier Motel. Was Charlie a gambler? Doesn't seem the type. Of course we'll never know because as usual Charlie is once again simply standing his ground. Click on image to see it larger. June 15, 2014 at 12:24 PM. Have we seen Charlie smoking a pipe before? Who does that anymore? June 15, 2014 at 8:10 PM. June 15, 2014 at 8:11 PM. A few years ago I wa...

Vintage Postcard Gallery: June 2012
http://gallery.vintagepostcardstore.net/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 29, 2012. Margate Holiday Makers by Sunbeam Photo Ltd. I happened upon these vintage sepia real photo postcards. On a market stall on a recent trip back to the UK. Snapped by one of the hundreds of seaside photographers. Working between the wars for the prolific Sunbeam Photo Ltd. In the British seaside resort of Margate. In Kent, these are wonderfully spontaneous shots of ordinary families as they stroll along the promenade in Cliftonville dressed up in their Sunday best. The postcard above...

Vintage Postcard Gallery: March 2013
http://gallery.vintagepostcardstore.net/2013_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 1, 2013. Arnold House Hotel, Brighton - 1960s. The Southern Aspect, Arnold House Hotel, Brighton. I'm always thrilled when I come across a good story behind a vintage postcard. Sadly, on some occasions, these mementos of times past depict charming buildings which have been long since demolished, and serve as a pictorial record of our lost architectural heritage. Situated on Montpelier Terrace in Brighton. The postcard, which is in pristine, uncirculated condition, belonged to my grandfather...

Vintage Postcard Gallery: December 2012
http://gallery.vintagepostcardstore.net/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 31, 2012. Italian Lucky 13 Horseshoe Postcard. With 2013 very nearly upon us I thought this Italian vintage postcard. Would be an excellent choice to celebrate the New Year. Published by a company indicated only by the simple initials T.E.L. printed on the reverse with no further markings, this uncirculated card was probably issued during the 1960s. Or Gnomes) also seem to appear on New Year's Eve. Cards with alarming regularity! Posted by Deborah Swain. Friday, December 21, 2012. Overla...

Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Happy as a pig in clover! Trick photography and photo-montages were all the rage in the early years of the last century and a stock feature during the Golden Age of postcard production. This charming New Year Greetings. The postcard may carry the French greeting “Bonne Année”, but was in fact issued in 1904 by Neue Photographische Gesellschaft. 8221; images such as this postcard, NPG's own trade name for a type of glossy hand-coloured real photo postcard. Tattered and Lost: Traveling with Charlie: ON THE ROAD with Charlie
http://tatteredandlosttravelingwithcharlie.blogspot.com/2014/05/on-road-with-charlie.html
ON THE ROAD with Charlie. I feel really bad about leaving Charlie standing out on this dirt road for so long. Hopefully he made some friends in the small town of Purdon, Texas. Where this shot was taken. With a population of only around 133 I'm guessing he knows everyone by name now. Click on image to see it larger. Sorry about this Charlie. We're back on the road again. June 15, 2014 at 12:10 PM. Where have you been? Hibernating and waiting for the flowers to bloom I guess. June 15, 2014 at 8:07 PM.

Tattered and Lost: Traveling with Charlie: Sitting ON THE EDGE
http://tatteredandlosttravelingwithcharlie.blogspot.com/2014/01/sitting-on-edge.html
Sitting ON THE EDGE. Is Charlie coming or going? Did he say, "Quick, take the picture" and then get up to leave? Or did he then settle back into the chair having been caught by his photographer wife before he had a chance to get comfortable. Charlie always looks comfortable whether standing or sitting. And this is not the first time he's been in this chair. Click on image to see it larger. January 27, 2014 at 2:23 PM. May 13, 2014 at 8:08 AM. Traveling with Charlie what a kick!
