Tatting is a knotted lace that came from the Nordic fishermens' net making technique in the 12th or 13th century. In the 15th or 16th century women started making lace with the same knot. It is basically 1 knot with a first half and a second half. The lace that is made with this technique is simply beautiful. Thursday, January 11, 2007. This medalion is made from DMC 80 thread.
