http://parkhopper.blogspot.com/2014/12/space-coast-half-marathon-recap-redux.html
Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 03 December, 2014. Space Coast Half Marathon Recap Redux. I have to warn any non-regular readers right now that this isn't going to be a standard race recap. If you're wondering what Space Coast is like, you should probably head to last year's recap. This race was not. My finest 3 hours. I wasn't in it mentally. My body didn't cooperate physically. And really? Cue the 3am wake-up alarm! Yeah, it was like that....

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 31 December, 2013. Guess What Day It Is. It's the day of the traditional Year in Non Sequitur. If you've been with the blog for any length of time, you'll know that the following is a hodgepodge made of the first sentence from each month's first blog post. Think this screenshot says a lot about my running progress: 19 miles one week, then only 2 the next. Take. A look at my summer work schedule. Six. Represented t...

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 31 December, 2014. Putting 2014 to Bed. Time for the year in non sequitor! The following is a hodgepodge made of the first sentence from each month's first blog post:. Ever since I started training for my first race, I have been humbled by the support I continue to receive from friends, family, and even strangers. Y'all know I have trouble accepting compliments, right? At the end of 2013. Well, I did. More than) d...

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 07 December, 2014. You may not know this, because I don't talk about it too much, but I ran a few races this year. I'll wait while you stop laughing. OK Anyway, yes this blog has turned into all-run-all-the-time. I kind of like it that way too, so don't expect it to change anytime soon! My Ten 2014 Half Marathon Post-Race Photos. Excited that I'm only planning on repeating two of my 2014 races above - Lake Nona an...

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 18 August, 2014. Soby now I assume everyone has heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. For those who haven't, here's the quickie recap:. My favorite ex-boyfriend challenged me on Saturday, and unfortunately it took until today to acquire a videographer. I missed the 24-hour window, but did douse myself, so I'm donating $25 to ALSA.org. Challenge Scott, although I seriously considered it. Instead, as an early b...
Adventures in Park Hopping: September 2014
http://parkhopper.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 24 September, 2014. Now that I've run in TEN half-marathons, I figure that I have enough experience to write a top-ten list. All of my races have had wonderful aspects that I genuinely enjoyed, and I wouldn't say that I hated running in any of them. And because I'm a slow/beginning runner, I'm pretty sure that my list wouldn't match up with most other people's lists. Just the same, here we go:. But I love bridges!

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 28 October, 2014. Race Recap: Lake Nona 13.1. Scott wanted to try out a half marathon, and had his heart set on Space Coast. Unfortunately, that race filled up on day one and he didn't get a chance to register. So we were looking at the Halloween Halfathon in Clearwater. until I found a cheaper race much closer to home: the inaugural Lake Nona 13.1. I'm so glad we did! Take lots of pictures! Selfies, medal pics, p...

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 02 December, 2013. Space Coast Half Marathon Recap. If your birthday happens to be 3-3-79,. Then this is almost the most perfect race bib ever! Side note: they were having audio problems, and the microphone kept cutting in and out. During the singing of the National Anthem, the crowd just started singing along whenever the audio stopped. It was kind of awesome. Before this race, my goal for the whole race season.
Adventures in Park Hopping: May 2014

Adventures in Park Hopping. Live-blogging from the shadow of "The Happiest Place on Earth". 24 May, 2014. Often, the periods between my blog posts are either filled with negative things I'd rather not talk about or negative space - nothing at all to talk about. This time, it's been absolutely crazy around here. I kept thinking, "I need to blog this," only to decide that sleep was a more effective use of my time. But so much. The Past Two Weeks:. May 10: Graduation Day! Celebrated by Park Hopping with Mom.

Teaching at Hogeschool Zuyd
Teaching at Hogeschool Zuyd. Thursday, June 23, 2005. And finally we meet. For months, Sylvia and I planned this exchange via email, and one very long telephone converstaion. During the exchange, Sylvia worked from my office along side my colleagues, while I took her place on the Heerlen campus - she was meeting my colleagues while I met hers. And after two weeks of living each other's lives, we finally met! It was surprising to both of us how similar we are in many ways. Posted by J. Lamer @ 3:46 PM.
