Teaching in the Tech Frontier: December 2009

http://teachinginthetechfrontier.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Teaching in the Tech Frontier. Tales of an elementary teacher's journey with her students. Thursday, December 24, 2009. Getting My Head Together. Ok, I know it has been a LONG time since I posted anything on this blog. I started the school year with BIG ambitions thinking I could be a one-woman-tech-hero. Yeah, not so much! I am able to troubleshoot so much more now independently. So needless to say, I felt like I was baptized by fire in this new role and actually glad I went through that experience.

Teaching in the Tech Frontier. Tales of an elementary teacher's journey with her students. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. I just recently received an iPod Touch and have been searching for educational apps for it. I stumbled across a cool primary friendly app called Word Magi. I think this is a great supplemental to word study in the primary grades and a wonderful way for kids to explore the world of literacy! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Dublin, Ohio, United States. Teaching in the Tech Frontier. Tales of an elementary teacher's journey with her students. Monday, July 12, 2010. So this summer I have spent a great deal of time pondering the set up of my classroom. I have actually gone into my new classroom and just sat on a chair in the middle of the room thinking. Admittedly, I have also snuck into other teacher's classrooms whom I admire for some inspiration. I am really struggling with what I want the layout of the space to be. Which addresses the link between sch...

Teaching in the Tech Frontier. Tales of an elementary teacher's journey with her students. Saturday, August 22, 2009. This week most certainly has not gone as planned. In my mind all teachers would have their new laptops, the new network and wireless system would be up and running, and the printers would be actually be printing. This would free me up to start the real reason I took this job - working with teachers in collaborating with using technology in their teaching. Boy was I WRONG! With all of this...

We are learners, wives, mothers, and teachers who are on a learning journey…one in which we will reflect and contemplate best practices for 21st century learners. Saturday, October 30, 2010. My learning journey has diverged. It has a little to do with technology, some to do with reading and writing. Mostly, it's about something that has changed my family's lives, my perspective, my writing and musings, celebrating the small moments, and making a difference. On the last day of school my RED THREAD. Then, ...

We are learners, wives, mothers, and teachers who are on a learning journey…one in which we will reflect and contemplate best practices for 21st century learners. Monday, October 11, 2010. Writing In The Outdoors. During an informal conversation with a parent, I learned that she and her friend began a writing workshop event for kids 2-5th grade at her farm on the weekends. As part of the Daisy Troop Cookie Drive, my daughter, her friend A, and the mothers sold cookies at Old Navy today. As all mothers do, we began chatting away on a variety of topics.
