Teaching While Imperfect | You thought there was some other way?
You thought there was some other way? By Teaching While Imperfect. I recently had one of those long nights that teachers know all too well. As I lay sleepless in bed at well past 3 am, my treasonous brain replayed every shortcoming, every failure, every wrong turn taken since the semester started in January. It’s not that my inner critic is anything new. I know that imposter syndrome is epidemic among college faculty. In fact, I recently read a particularly vivid description of it here. The morning after...

teaching wide-awake | Just another WordPress.com weblog
The personal and the public in art. Just another WordPress.com weblog. June 25, 2013. Leaving my position with Chicago Public Schools will not translate easily into reflections typed on a smart phone, while a broken armed three year old changes positions of his legs next to me, on me, pushing me every few seconds. But an attempt needs to be made as my anxiety mounts, reality sets in, and the final chance to organize my teaching space and say goodbyes faces me tomorrow. January 23, 2013. There are various...

Teaching Wild Alaska
In this blog, I will share my adventures teaching kindergarten in bush Alaska. I'm up here with my little dog booboo (yes like yogi and booboo bear). This year my husband will finally be joining me from Oregon with our big dog Chloe. Friday, April 17, 2015. It's been an other year. Personally, gone through many changes and have been very busy raising Baby C in the evenings. We already have less than 20 days left in the school year! Can't believe time has gone by so fast. In front of the school this fall!
