Thursday, 30 June 2011. Oot and Aboot on the Acropolis. Dave had the day off from competition yesterday and so did Team Dave. So while Dave enjoyed a day of R&R and focusing on Thursday's shot put final, Team Dave explored the Acropolis. Amy also needed the day off to rest her pipes; Le Blog Head actually told Amy that there had been media reports that she could be heard cheering on Dave and his fellow Team Canada members as far away as Crete. Friday, 1 July 2011. Dave wins silver medal in the 200. Canada Day proved to be an exciting day at Olympic Stadium as Dave rocketed to a 26.53 time in the 200, just .01 of a second off the gold medal winning time. Dave sends his thanks to Coach Eileen back in Winnipeg and says a special hello to all this family and friends back home. Team Dave had planned on enjoying a quiet dinner in the Plaka, (Athens oldest neighbourhood), on our way back to our hotel in Montastraki Square. We decided, however, to stay in our hotel the rest of the evening and enjoy the view of the Acropolis from our balcony while enjoying a glass of Greek wine. Team Dave Athens 2011.
