How do I get different background images on my dual monitors. December 25, 2012. I got sent this question via e-mail. On Windows 7 and I think other versions of Windows, by default the same background picture is used for both displays. When running a dual monitor set-up it is possible to have different wallpapers without using special software. There is quite a clever fix to this one! What you need is to find the resolution of each screen. This means you need an image that is 38401080. Go to Control Panel.
