Wild Flowers in Blackwork. Blackwork embroidery is a traditional technique which was very popular in the early Tudor and Elizabethan periods when it was used to decorate garments, bed linen and other household articles. It was worked in dark silk, coloured thread on white or cream linen fabrics, often decorated with a touch of gold or silver gilt thread. New in the studio:. Adieu to summer, and to Sky Feeder! Thanks to the Center on Contemporary Art and the Seattle Parks Department for hosting a great summer experience. As a HORRIFIED teenager, I can remember my mom and aunt collecting aluminum cans and exchanging them for extra cash. Our families used that money to spend on vacation.
