街はしんとしていて、お店も休みだったり、営業時間短縮だったり。 毎年「春分の日の後の最初の満月の後の最初の日曜日」だそうで、今年は1ヶ月くらい早いみたい。 でも、「イースター」という名前は聖書由来ではなく、「Passover」と呼ばれることもあるのだとか。 春の訪れを祝う意味もあるので、店先には、春にちなんだデザインのものなどが並んでいます。 玉子型のジェリービンズもよく売っていますが、実はレーガン元大統領の好物で、彼のご時世くらいから、イースターによく出回るようになったそうです。 こどもたちは、前もって隠してある色や絵を描いた玉子を探す遊びをするそうですが、これは命（特にイエスの? ラムは高価なので、ハムやブタのももで代用することも多いらしく、スーパーでは恒例の特売。 東京の端→奈良→三重→京都と移り住み、夫とともに、2007年4月末-2008年3月末にフィラデルフィアに滞在。帰国して千葉に在住。自他共に認めるケチ。体形が気になるものの、食いしん坊である。 Di Bruno Bros.ランチ.
