pinkgurugal: October 2008
http://pinkgurugal.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
A simple girl with a complicated mind. Sunday, October 26, 2008. So yesterday I rode 25 and ran 10. Not long ago.mmmm. like last year, that would have seemed like no big deal. yesterday it felt like HELL. Save for the weather, I was totally spent. I was slow as a caterpillar, and my back was SCREAMING in pain. Which begs the question: WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING? Am I crazy to want to do a half ironman in two weeks given my back is killing me and i'm seven weeks away from MAJOR back surgery? Adversity build...

A simple girl with a complicated mind. Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Triathlon Transition No Nos. Fodder for any budding triathlete! Cheers and happy training! Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Spectating Spectacle Part Two. So on Sunday, I not only watched a triathlon. but after the race, Rob and I rode into the city to watch the Houston Grand Crit races. . . . Now i'm not a roadie, but I think in criterium races, cyclists go all out for forty minutes to an hour? We weren't the only ones in the Philip fan club. Since R...

pinkgurugal: Getting Back on Track
http://pinkgurugal.blogspot.com/2008/12/getting-back-on-track.html
A simple girl with a complicated mind. Saturday, December 13, 2008. Getting Back on Track. So it's Sunday morning and relative to post operation, I am moving around much better. I am able to walk without shuffling, kneel down to pick up things (I credit cycling to my legs abilities to carry the weight), and get in and out of the bed without too much pain. Speaking of pain. Notwithstanding, I do feel improvement and can sort of, in a strange way, see that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. May...

pinkgurugal: April 2008
http://pinkgurugal.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
A simple girl with a complicated mind. Monday, April 21, 2008. Something that has changed my life and can be credited with my sense of self empowerment? Here I am cycling my heart out. Only this was taken a few years ago. Notice the bad aero position. Then, in just the last few weeks, someone showed me this photo. I think this was the Thanksgiving Day Turkey trot. I look happy. I smiled. Actually, I always smile when I see a camera. It's my way of not taking myself so seriously and to...I didn't get paid...

TRI4FREEDOM: Run shop angers me
http://tri4freedom.blogspot.com/2008/04/run-shop-angers-me.html
Thursday, April 10, 2008. Run shop angers me. So I bought a fuel belt at a local run shop that will remain nameless (tortoise and the hare) Used it twice and the eyelet popped off that secures the tension cords to hold your bottles in. Anthow, back to the store I go, figure that this is going to be straightforward, right? What the hell does he mean these things happen. Oh Well, I'm going to email Fuel Belt tommorow with a picture and my tale of woe and see what they can do. Oh man. that stinks!

pinkgurugal: Walking Works
http://pinkgurugal.blogspot.com/2008/12/walking-works.html
A simple girl with a complicated mind. Saturday, December 20, 2008. For the past few days I have been walking and walking and walking. And by walking I literally mean putting one foot in front of another. I haven't been walking fast, because quite frankly I can't. I have however, managed to get my distance up. I began the week with a few miles, followed by days of walking four miles. Yesterday I walked a whole eight miles! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Houston, Texas, United States.
