Friday, June 25, 2010. We finally got the key to the bakery. The flooring is down, new paint is on the walls, and the fixtures are installed! We are giving ourselves a week or two to tie up loose ends and finalize permits. Then it begins! The scent of freshly baked cakes, the icing sugar up to my elbows, the squeaky sound of my grandmother's rolling pin as it smooths out pieces of fondant. How wonderful! The Almond Tree Bakery.
