Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 11 March 2012. As a child, I happily carried my little orange UNICEF box as I trick-or-treated my way from house to house on Halloween. I felt good about collecting coin donations in that little box, and bringing the jingling box of coins to school the next day to send off to UNICEF. Oh, doesn't thinking sound complicated? It's a good thing I learn things on YouTube sometimes. Today I came across a new video on Unicef Canada's YouTube channel. March 12, 2012. Althou...

Katzendame: Auto litter boxes: helpful or hostile?
http://katzendame.blogspot.com/2012/02/hello-kittens-this-week-im-doing.html
Sunday, 19 February 2012. Auto litter boxes: helpful or hostile? This week, I’m doing something a little different. My mother’s birthday is coming up, and seeing as she is a major Katzendame like me, I’m considering a cat-related gift. Upon searching, I came across a self-cleaning litterbox. Now, I don’t know if any of you have ever seen one of these things in action, but it’s a pretty neat concept. There seem to be a few different models, each baring a different pricetag. Still in demo process. I find t...

http://charitablecommunity.blogspot.com/2012/02/itsfebruary-once-again.html
Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 5 February 2012. It’s February once again. And, it’s Heart Month in several countries. In Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s goal for the end of February 2012 is to reach 1 million actions that will “Make Death Wait.” These actions can involve healthy meal planning, walking, running, donating, and volunteering. After all, it truly is about people. Of course, I want to mention the volunteers. The Heart and Stroke Foundation has thousands of volunteers who ...

The Mason Jar: May 2012
http://the-masonjar.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Me and the JAR. Sunday, May 13, 2012. The grass is getting greener, the days are getting warmer and that can only mean one thing. my mom's spending her weekends in the garden. This year for Mother's Day I got her started on her herb garden. After a trip to a local green house and Canadian Tire I was prepped for an afternoon of potting jars. A bag of potting soil. A variety of potted herbs - If you are really on the ball, which I wasn't, you can do this from seed. Put some potting soil in each of the jars.

Katzendame: Avalanche Cats... you heard me
http://katzendame.blogspot.com/2012/03/avalanche-cats.html
Sunday, 11 March 2012. Avalanche Cats. you heard me. I'd like to take time to discuss something very near and dear to my heart. And avalanches. (wtf? They are unpredictable, devastating, and claim over 150 lives a year worldwide. (avalanches, not cats! Just another day on the job. But if any of you are planning a ski trip to the back country of Fernie, British Columbia, you need not fear these snow waves of destruction, for CARCA is ever vigilant and adorable. What is CARCA, you ask? On the CARCA site.

Katzendame: Adoption Profile: Lionheart **ADOPTED!!**
http://katzendame.blogspot.com/2012/02/adoption-profile-lionheart.html
Sunday, 26 February 2012. Adoption Profile: Lionheart * ADOPTED! When I entered the Niagara Falls Humane Society's Adoption Centre in Niagara Square, it was difficult to not get lost in the mews and purrs of a dozen or so lovely and unique felines. But I was on a mission. I approached one of the volunteers and told them I was looking for a very specific cat. "Please show me the cat that has been here the longest," I asked, "the one who deserves a home so much but just hasn't caught a break.". Lionheart w...

The Mason Jar: March 2012
http://the-masonjar.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Me and the JAR. Monday, March 12, 2012. I naturally always look for people's unique uses for Mason jars. This one I got from a friend and I cannot wait to share it. Infusing Alcohol. Let's get one thing straight - we are not making alcohol here (yet) - we are just going to try and naturally flavour it, to make types of alcohol taste bearable - I mean better. Here are some of the basic steps:. Use clean air-tight quart size Mason Jar. I just completed my first attempt- Strawberry Infused Vodka. Still ...

The Mason Jar: Toronto's New Pizza Party Hosts.
http://the-masonjar.blogspot.com/2012/03/torontos-new-pizza-party-hosts.html
Me and the JAR. Monday, February 27, 2012. Toronto's New Pizza Party Hosts. Pizza holds a place in our hearts at all stages of life:. 8211; a birthday party favorite. 8211; a lunch staple. 8211; a late night saviour. 8211; a no brainer date night. Growing up not eating pizza because of lactose intolerance, I have made it a mission to make up for lost time. Lucky for me Toronto does pizza, and does it well! But more importantly, I had to find a Mason jar connection to let you know about this fabulous place.
