The Baking Apprentice: July 2012

http://www.thebakingapprentice.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Grammie's Baked Mac and Cheese. Boiling the water, it requires patience and more patience. The baker and her whittle apprentice, trying not to get banished for being rather messy at times. =). Everyone has their adaptations and his is ketchup. I highly. do not. My grandmother doesn't really follow a recipe for this, so I tried to make note of the measurements and ingredients while she baked. 1 1/2 cup elbow macaroni. 3 Tbsp. butter. 1 1/8 cup milk. 2 1/2 cups shredded cheese.

The Baking Apprentice: Cinnamon Apple Crescents

http://www.thebakingapprentice.blogspot.com/2013/01/cinnamon-apple-crescents.html

Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Could it get any easier? This is a canned crescent roll, wrapped around an apple slice, then baked for 9 minutes. Nope, can't get much easier than that. This is a mixture of brown. Sugar and cinnamon, although I prefer using white sugar. Yet another version of the recipe. 1 can of 8 Pillsbury crescent rolls. 1/2 cup of butter, melted. 1/2 cup of cinnamon/brown sugar mixture. Whipped cream and caramel (Optional). 1 Preheat oven to 350F. Tuesday, January 15, 2013. DIY Rustic Choc...

The Baking Apprentice: August 2012

Wednesday, August 29, 2012. People ate the pie so quickly so unfortunately this is all that. Was left to take a picture of - the last piece! This summer has been filled with many sights and states and foods and friends. The last thing left on my "Grammie would you please make this list" was a shoofly pie! I never really liked the idea of eating something that had a fly in its name. But I made an exception with this recipe. News Flash! Everything all mashed up, with our handy, dandy pastry blender. S, thi...

Thursday, May 31, 2012. Guess who came by to pay me a visit again? No, not my cousin, not my editor, not my mailman.and no not even the tooth fairy (I'm pretty sure I've already lost all my baby teeth anyway.) The unwanted visitor was.Writer's Block. Why! Does Writer's Block have a crush on me or something? 65279;. Happy Birthday to my 2 days of experiencing writer's block. Here are 2 candles in your honor! By the way, they're upside down. =/. Friday, March 9, 2012. Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies. Happy St. Patrick's Day! So I realize it's not St. Patrick's Day yet but I wanted to post a recipe on the blog, so that you have plenty of time to make it. This recipe has nothing to do with Ireland or St. Patrick's Day, it's just a really yummy cookie that I wanted to make, so I had to come up with an excuse to make it. =). You can make these cookies on really any holiday, all you have to do is be creative, and turn your thinking cap ON! 4 Bake at 37...

Monday, February 16, 2015. We've got a lot of ground beef in our deep freeze, and I've been trying to think up new things to try with it. Made this recipe for Italian Herb Baked Meatballs. Last week, and Jeremy and I liked them! Kids weren't that impressed, but they ate them. I doubled the recipe for 29 total. (Used a #24 scoop.). Didn't have any marinara on hand, so I used worcestershire sauce, but not an equivalent measure. For the doubled recipe I used 2 TBSP. Not sure that the parchment was necessary!

Sunday, January 19, 2014. I want a butterfly and Ada on it.". Our daughter, Ada, turned 5 just ten days ago. She shares her birthday with her Uncle Jason, which is pretty cool. Not sure what he wanted on his cake, but the title was her request. And chocolate. This is what I came up with:. From the same book I made a sauce/topping/frosting recipe and did this with it:. I let it sit in the fridge for a bit so the sauce wouldn't be quite as runny. It turned out well! A few days later:. 1/3 cup dutch cocoa.

The American Woman: Luke's Firsts

http://www.the-american-woman.com/2014/01/lukes-firsts.html

Monday, January 6, 2014. Introduced Luke to the beach over the weekend! We headed to Santa Cruz for lunch and a bonfire to celebrate my moms birthday. Luke had so far slept through a lot of his first trips: two trips to the pumpkin patch and getting our Christmas tree. He was awake for the first part of the beach visit, so that was really exciting and I got a little camera happy! We were also able to get a family photo with all three of us smiling! Saturday, May 3, 2014. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins. My friend Jess makes a good peanut butter chocolate chip muffin. I think hers was the only one I had ever had. I'm pretty sure I would remember if I had had a peanut butter chocolate chip muffin in my life before. Monumental, that. At the beginning of this year, not sure if it was the first or second month, I googled around to look for a recipe. Annie's Eats had just what I was looking for! Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins. 2 1/4 cups flour.
