The Book Life: "You like it? Our Golden Age? Yes?"

http://www.thebooklife88.blogspot.com/2009/09/you-like-it-our-golden-age-yes.html

Friday, September 4, 2009. Other than that, I have my reservations about how this society could cause such a significant alteration in human nature, or if there really is that much a difference between this "attitude of constant experimentation" and progress in general. But this can be discussed at the end of the book, I suppose. September 5, 2009 at 9:45 AM. September 6, 2009 at 5:09 AM. This comment has been removed by the author. September 6, 2009 at 5:12 AM. The Book Life: A thread about the sheep

http://www.thebooklife88.blogspot.com/2009/08/thread-about-sheep.html

Saturday, August 22, 2009. A thread about the sheep. The curious thing is that most of these sheep have never been shocked by the fence. Most of them were born after we took the wire away. It has become a tradition among our sheep never to approach string. The lambs acquire it from their elders, whose judgment they never question.". I wonder how many of us live our lives like the sheep? Afraid of a shock that doesn't exist? Safely guarded by a fear that protects us from too much freedom? I am absolutely ...

Tuesday, August 25, 2009. I'm not sure how many of you got the reissued edition, but this is from the intro. The book was originally written in 1948, and the intro was written in 1976. Skinner is explaining why he thinks the book received so much attention, after first going unnoticed for a decade. Couldn't this have been written TODAY? The issues we're dealing with now (which are knocked for being "trendy") have been around a long time, and have only been growing more dire. Saturday, August 22, 2009.

One Against Thebes: It Moved...

http://oneagainstthebes.blogspot.com/2009/08/it-moved.html

The other six have perished, I'm all that's left. The battle continues. So, I haven't been around writing. Actually I have but what is written is in the 'draft' section as they have all been deemed 'not suitable for public viewing' because of their likelihood to offend people. So it goes. Maybe I will post them. The problem is that with knowledge of older posts it becomes blatantly obvious who they refer to. And last but not least, I am going to be a father. Saturday, August 08, 2009. Did I scare you?

One Against Thebes: December 2008

The other six have perished, I'm all that's left. The battle continues. Last week I officially finished my first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. Towards being accredited as hospital chaplain. For our final meeting we had to complete an exit interview report that turned out to be about 9 pages long. One of the questions asked: "What patient relationships have meant the most to you." and I answered from the last 6 months with two patients. One is Shaya. And she was right. I do miss her. Drooling over ...

The other six have perished, I'm all that's left. The battle continues. Working in a hospital is like traipsing through a Salvador Dali painting. A person codes, which is hospital talk for drops dead, in the middle of a hall surrounded by children and myself. During all this a fellow chaplain who was there asked me if I wouldn't mind terribly grabbing his lunch that was left in the cafeteria when he came up. I happily obliged him. It was around that time, when shouts of: "Eppy now! My god its been so long.

The other six have perished, I'm all that's left. The battle continues. Back To The Hospital. And on a completely different note. This was my 100th blog post. I'm sure there are people who can do that in a month, well it took me about 2 1/2 years! Monday, January 12, 2009. Forty hours a week? Nobody alive can do that. I have to say, I'm envious that you can take a day off mid-week and just work a Saturday to cover it. But I don't envy your actual job; you're awesome at it. Jan 13, 2009, 6:57:00 AM. The t...

It is a re-accounting of the movie going experience. Proceed with caution, because there may be some spoilerish content. Also, my interpretation of this experience makes me feel really old. The Book Life | What I'm thinking about what I'm reading

April 19, 2011. Final are winning, this April, in the contest between law school and NaPoWriMo. Friends are also winning. I’m okay with all of this, and all it means is that I’ll be continuing my 30 poems well into May. The final final is May 2, and perhaps I’ll manage a few poems between now and then, and then I’ll pick back up again in earnest. NaPoWriMo. Has had such great prompts, and I want to try them all out! April 13, 2011. It’s so hard to write poems about friendship. But this poem wants to be.
