Friday, March 25, 2011. Today was one of the best days ever! Mark and I have officially been waiting for 6 months today, and we celebrated with Eli Tariku's homecoming! It was so much fun to meet up with a group of people at the airport to see the Palmers come home finally with Eli. He's such a sweet boy and so spirited! We love you Tariku! At the end you can hear Eli yell "Mama! When he is running to Anna. So sweet! Posted by The Brannan Brief! Thursday, March 17, 2011. Posted by The Brannan Brief!

The Brannan Brief: Turning 2

http://thebrannanbrief.blogspot.com/2012/01/turning-2.html

Wednesday, January 11, 2012. My baby is two years old today! Monday night we had our three month post placement home study, and our social worker confirmed that Zane is every bit a two year old. We're so glad to see that he is developmentally on track with his peers. However, turning two is just like turning 16; I'm sure of it. Between the word, "NO! Clapping their hands in rhythm. But for the most part, he was a stoic observer of the world around him, always investigating the leaves, grass, and outd...

Thursday, November 17, 2011. Week 9 and 10: Goodnight Aggieland! The children's book that Mark and I wrote was published, and we received our shipment of books this week! Is a book about the greatest university on earth, and it's unique traditions. While it is a children's book primarily, it's great for any fan who wants to share the traditions that make Texas A&M one of the most spirited campuses in the country. It would make a great Christmas present for anyone! Posted by The Brannan Brief! We continue...

The Brannan Brief: First Holiday Season with Zane

http://thebrannanbrief.blogspot.com/2012/01/first-holiday-season-with-zane.html

Sunday, January 1, 2012. First Holiday Season with Zane. Ohwait.you thought I meant real snow. We're in Houston people. Come on. I'm thankful for David, our driver, and more importantly our friend. His love for coffee paralleled mine, and we never passed up an opportunity to share a macchiato together. He brought us joy as he played Ethiopian music in the car and drove way too fast over pot holes, honking all the way to warn area drivers that we were on a mission. Gilberts for His Glory: Adoption Update

http://gilbertsforhisglory.blogspot.com/2015/03/adoption-update.html

Adopting a Child with HIV. Saturday, March 7, 2015. My last post, almost four months ago, was an adoption update that was hard to write. This one is even harder. But as I just read over my words from that last update. My heart was encouraged again by the unchanging character of our God who is always faithful, always good, and always right on time. I needed my own reminder to myself as share where we are currently in this process! Who is HIV positive. AGCI gave families the option of staying in the ET pro...

Praying For Rayne: Getting a little closer

http://prayingforrayne.blogspot.com/2013/07/getting-little-closer.html

Monday, July 1, 2013. Getting a little closer. The last few months has been very emotional! There has been little to no movement, and everyday that goes by the wait gets harder! We have now been waiting 29 months, WOW I can't believe it's been that long. And then on top of no movement 2 weeks ago our agency sent an email with another huge disappointment! We struggled on what to do next? Should we drop out of the program? Should we pursue a different program? Should we increase our age? 2 weeks later after...

Adventures in Hope...: July 2010

http://thepalmersjourney.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 22, 2010. I spent last night hanging out with two 16 year old girls. That's not so unusual for me - the wife of a youth minister. But this was different. We didn't hang out at Starbucks or go to a movie. We hung out in their prison cell. H lived with her grandmother. She has no idea how long she will be incarcerated. The 17 year old girl who committed the murder has already been tried as an adult - and found guilty. That's why First Baptist New Orlean's Rivarde Team goes week in and week o...

Adventures in Hope...: 24k

http://thepalmersjourney.blogspot.com/2010/11/24k.html

Thursday, November 4, 2010. Everyday 24,000 children die from poverty related issues like:. 24,000. Everyday. And we are adopting 1 (2 if we're lucky). What about all the others? The financial cost of international adoption is significant. There are agency fees and paperwork fees and plane tickets to be bought. It adds up fast. Some argue that the money spent to adopt one child could be used to feed many. And they are right. $30,000 would go a long way in Ethiopia. But, we can't forget about the 24,000.

Adventures in Hope...: November 2010

http://thepalmersjourney.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 11, 2010. For the past year and a half we've been thinking about orphans. Praying for orphans. Reading about orphans. Researching the stats about orphans. Advocating for orphans. Even though we've known the worldwide orphan crisis is real - it was abstract. The shear numbers were overwhelming. The problem seemed too big. The solution seemed allusive. Then on Friday, November 5th we were introduced to a little boy. And that changed everything. The problem of orphan. The financial cost o...

http://thepalmersjourney.blogspot.com/2010/12/guess-what.html

Monday, December 6, 2010. We've got a court date! We're still waiting to hear if we will travel once at the court date and then again to bring him home or if Anna will be allowed to stay the 6-8 weeks between court and embassy. Apparently there is a meeting tomorrow where this possibility will be discussed. We'd appreciate your prayers - we're really hoping Anna can stay. December 7, 2010 at 4:58 PM. YAY YAY YAY YAY! Praying for that meeting! That sweet little boy will be home SOON! Dear Jon and Anna,.
