Supergrass | The Concrete Palace Garden

https://theconcretepalacegarden.wordpress.com/supergrass-and-shed-of-the-year

The Concrete Palace Garden. Seed Mixes and Control Freakery. I think I’ll be moving plants until the day we leave this garden, but it feels as though almost everything I put in this year was in the wrong place. I had mystifyingly decided to put some very tall plants at the edges, and hidden some very short plants at the back. I’ve taken a sudden dislike to a few things including Verbena bonariensis. A new realism | The Concrete Palace Garden

https://theconcretepalacegarden.wordpress.com/a-new-realism

The Concrete Palace Garden. Seed Mixes and Control Freakery. And I’m going to try to wear gloves more, it doesn’t look very good turning up for work with hands raw from scrubbing and nails scraped and broken from weeding in the gravel. I was brought up to think that gloves were for the type of genteel lady gardener who drifts around with their snips and a trug and has someone else to do the heavy work. But Alys with a why recommended Ethel. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

The workshop takes place once a month throughout the year over the course of a weekend: a three-and-a-half hour session on Saturday evening followed by a shorter session on Sunday morning. And then it was time for breakfast. But despite our enthusiasm, there really was no hope of us polishing off all that we had made, so once again we left the bakery laden with treats to take home. Last week, whilst thinking about how to fit more roses into my garden, I dug out these photographs. Way back in June, on the summer solstice no less, we took the girls and Sybil for an early evening game of frisbee in the grounds of Ashton Court. Frisbee isn’t really my thing, so I wandered off to the rose garden instead. Consequently, tracking down the roses I fall in love with feels ...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Author Archives: Charlotte's Plot. April 17, 2015. The appearance of wild garlic in the woods has signalled the start of this year’s foraging. So far, wild garlic has been shredded into carbonara, strewn in salads and added to omelettes. Yesterday I blitzed the plateful above, to make pesto. The winter months were hard, however. I looked for sloes, but failed, and I completely forgot about rose hips. But I finished on a positive note, gathering ...This ...

Sunday, May 15, 2011. Waterproofing Systems, Episode 2. This is the second episode in a 3 part series on "Waterproofing Systems". The second component of a waterproofing system is the drain tile system. Here again we have some choices. The most common drain tile is round. Sometimes it has a sock fiber on it and sometimes it doesn’t. This drain tile is normally placed on the footing on the outside of the wall and covered with gravel. An example of a drain tile system is named Aqua-drain. Keeping moisture ...
