The Cooking Gene: October 2008

http://www.thecookinggene.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

If you don't have it, you can fake it. Thursday, October 30, 2008. So, I came across this particular recipe and getting prematurely excited for Thanksgiving pie, I thought I would give it a whirl. It started off well, it's one of Paula Deen's. Fiona spent a lot of time watching the Food Network when we were housebound and Paula Deen. Is one of her favorites. Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cakes. 1 package yellow cake mix. 8T butter, melted. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened.

The Cooking Gene: Another tip

http://www.thecookinggene.blogspot.com/2009/10/another-tip.html

If you don't have it, you can fake it. Friday, October 2, 2009. Tonight I made a full recipe of lasagna. I split it into two. One we ate tonight and the other that went into a disposable pan that was covered and put into the refrigerator. Lasagna freezes amazingly well and we didn't even eat the entire pan I cooked tonight. That's another meal that we will be eating in the future. I do need to clean out and rearrange my freezer so that I can fit things in better. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Cooking Gene: September 2009

http://www.thecookinggene.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

If you don't have it, you can fake it. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. So, Trina asked for some recipes. I figured that someone have just recipes and not tons of pictures on their website and that is totally something that I can do. I just hated stopping in the middle of what I was doing to take a picture. So, I am just going to post recipes, sans pictures, for a while. The first theme is freezer meals. English Muffin and Ham Strata. 6 English muffins, cut into small pieces. 3 cups diced ham. Fiona, TD an...

The Cooking Gene: Amazing Frosting!

http://www.thecookinggene.blogspot.com/2009/10/amazing-frosting.html

If you don't have it, you can fake it. Thursday, October 22, 2009. I got this recipe from another site, OurBest Bites.com. 1/2c sugar (regular sugar). You will be scared because it will look like a weird goopy mess at first you and will wonder what you did wrong. Keep beating and something amazing will happen. Store at room temperature. I copied this nearly verbatim from their website. It's a great website, I totally recommend checking it out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sweet and Sour Chicken. Tortilla Soup in the Crock Pot. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. Monday, May 16, 2011. Sweet and Sour Chicken. This was really good! It isn't PF Chang's quality, but I will definitely make this again. It was really easy and I thought it was good and ALL my kids ate it with very little complaining from Jake. That is a big deal! Sweet and Sour Chicken. From: Sun Bird seasoning packet. 1 1/2 lbs. chicken, cut in strips. 1/4 c cornstarch, 1 3/4 c water; divided, 2 T Soy sauce.

Chicken Breast with Reduction and Onions. Jump to Printable Version. In my opinion, this is the single best way to cook chicken breasts so that they will be juicy, tender, and succulent. It is fast and easy, and gives you a lot of freedom to dress the dish up in whatever way your imagination desires. With this chicken as the center piece, you cannot fail. This is a great one to practice with. This recipe is for two chicken breasts. It takes about 25 minutes to prepare. Click here for full post. Different...

The Cooking Geeks | We code, we cook, and we like to talk about it.

We code, we cook, and we like to talk about it. Bits and bobs…. Posted by Sherri on January 30, 2011 in Cookery. I have lots of blog post ideas kicking around, but since I’m in a hurry tonight, I’ll just share some things that I’ve noted and learned while cooking and baking these last few weeks. Going dairy-free (both baking and cooking) isn’t as difficult as I’d previously thought! We’ve been trying out lots of dairy-free recipes as an experiment, not because either of us is actually allergic. Making ja...

Cooking and Baking and Blogging, Oh My! Asparagus Tomato and Feta Salad. Snacks (the healthy kind). Extra virgin olive oil. I love spring. One of the main reasons I love it is that the temperatures get warmer and everything that is bleak and bland gets more colorful – including food! When choosing asparagus, make sure you try and go for the skinnier stalks as they are more tender and do not need peeling. 1 cup Bulgur wheat. 1 1/2 cups of water. 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil. 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice.
