Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse. Thursday, September 9, 2010. Back to Grade 11 Math! Seeing that I couldnt recall whether 'soh cah toa' (or is it toh sah coa? Was correct, and whether angles had to be in degrees or radians, I chose the most efficient option. I just googled "trigenometry calculator" and got this incredibly simple online calculator. Input two of the values you know, and the other 3 are calculated for you! Carbide Depot trigenometry calculator. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse: August 2010
http://tavistocktreehouse.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse. Wednesday, August 11, 2010. It's simply not good enought to build a strong treehouse, it also has to be good looking. That's why you aren't going to see rough plywood walls or any junk like that. Here is another little cosmetic touch I think will look fantastic. Check out the before and after pic, with the cedar shake installed to cover the somewhat less than attractive 2 x 8 end beam. Monday, August 9, 2010. Wall Framing, Second Floor Joists. Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse: November 2010
http://tavistocktreehouse.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse. Thursday, November 4, 2010. A short while ago I decided that instead of a front facing dormer on the house, I would actually make an extended, overhanging dormer. Although the second floor boasts the same square footage as the first (70 sf roughly) the fact that the peak was under six feet, and the pitch, although steep, would make the second story feel quite cramped. The Carters in Canada: The Last Week
http://cartersincanada.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-last-week.html
The Carters in Canada. Friday, July 20, 2012. Well, what can I say. It's been quite a ride. In the week since I got back from New York, I have: visited Gananaque with my friend Michele. Her parents have a spectacular property on the river and I was treated to a personalized boat tour of the 1000 Islands. I felt pretty lucky to be able to spend time with her family who were wonderful people. The following day saw me take a drive to Howe Island with Michele to have dinner with Liz Rae Dalton and Ann O'Brie...

The Carters in Canada: Prince Edward County
http://cartersincanada.blogspot.com/2012/07/prince-edward-county.html
The Carters in Canada. Wednesday, July 4, 2012. American Independence Day spent in Prince Edward County! The last couple of days nice returning from Ottawa have been a little less hectic with me catching up on some much needed sleep. I safely deposited my little Toyota back at the hire place. Luckily I only drove on the wrong side of the road once. This was when I turned off the 401 into Division St in Kingston. I happened to notice some cars coming towards me. Whoops! Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse: Making Curved Lumber
http://tavistocktreehouse.blogspot.com/2010/09/making-curved-lumber.html
Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse. Thursday, September 23, 2010. The main cantilevered deck of the treehouse is designed with a broad sweeping curve at the front, so the outmost deck joist will have to be curved to match. How to make curved lumber, in this case a curved 2 x 6? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog. Don't look at me! This is the book that started all this trouble! Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse: Tool of the Month - September 2010
http://tavistocktreehouse.blogspot.com/2010/10/tool-of-month-september-2010.html
Rudi and Alexander's Tavistock Treehouse. Sunday, October 17, 2010. Tool of the Month - September 2010. Nothing beats having a lightweight, easy to handle, high output chainsaw handy when working on a platform fifteen feet in the air cutting 4 inch limbs off a gnarly White Spruce tree. So here is mine, a Husqvarna 335 XPT top handle arborist chain saw. It puts out 2.2 horsepower, and makes short work of large limbs, small trees, and even decent sized logs. Tool of the month.
