The Craft-Arty Kid (Old blog): May 2013

http://thecraftartykid.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, 30 May 2013. The idea for this latest painting came from seeing a photo when looking through old camp photos for this post. About my last painting. The photo had a really Turner/Constable-esque sky so I thought it should be painted. It's oil on canvas and measures 12 x 9". Here are some of the other photos from the same time. They were taken in 1992 by my Dad. My Dad helpfully labelled some of the photos so we know that it was 1992 in Swanage. A pretty good year for camping by the looks of it.

The Craft-Arty Kid (Old blog): March 2013

http://thecraftartykid.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, 31 March 2013. Made some miniature bouquets of flowers for my current art piece. I went out for a meal three times this week. I was so hungry when the food arrived when I went out with my friends that I didn't stop to take a photo first. So I took one after I was done. You're welcome. And I went round my sisters to catch up Nashville. 5 episodes watched in one afternoon. That's how it's done. Did y'all have a good week? Links to this post. Thursday, 28 March 2013. When I was in Nashville. Note: I...

The Craft-Arty Kid (Old blog): Getting Organised

http://thecraftartykid.blogspot.com/2014/01/getting-organised.html

Thursday, 9 January 2014. Today I wanted to share a few ways that I'm trying to be more organised going into 2014. The end of last year was very busy for me with craft fairs, exhibitions, work, finding a new job and Christmas, so there was a lot going on at once and a lot to remember. I've modified the space around my laptop to help me keep track of what I'm doing. To the right of me as I write this is my locker. These are held on with more washi-tape style magnets, like the ones I made here. 2-3oftheway...

The Craft-Arty Kid (Old blog): A Gift for Grandad

http://thecraftartykid.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-gift-for-grandad.html

Tuesday, 7 January 2014. A Gift for Grandad. These were one of the gifts we gave my Grandad for Christmas. Earlier in the year he had got all his old cinefilms digitized and we received copies of the files. I love watching my Dad's speech at my parents wedding. He does not. When I started putting all my videos on to DVD collections my Mum thought it would be a good idea to do the same thing for my Grandad with his videos. But I got them finished before Christmas. 7 January 2014 at 22:19.

The Craft-Arty Kid (Old blog): October 2013

http://thecraftartykid.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, 31 October 2013. It might be a little bit too early to be thinking about Christmas, but I've got some Christmas craft fairs coming up so I need to think ahead. In addition to the things I make for Etsy. I've been adding to my stock with some seasonal items. This gingerbread man ornaments is made out of Sculpey - a flat base with the features added on - and then painted with acrylic. I also made some smaller gingerbread men. Gingerbros, if you will. DIY Chalkboard Coasters - The Sweetest Occasion — The Sweetest Occasion

http://www.thesweetestoccasion.com/2012/10/diy-chalkboard-coasters

October 30, 2012 by Cyd Converse. Chalkboard crafts have been all the rage in recent months and today I’m officially joining the ranks of the chalkboard-obsessed! A while back I fell in love with the idea of making chalkboard coasters. They’d be so cute for impromptu games of Tic Tac Toe or assigning drinks at a cocktail party! Craft knife or scissors. Next up I trimmed down my cork Con-Tact paper into squares just slightly smaller than the size of the tile. This allows for a non-slip surface on the ...
