The craft at hand. Thursday, March 8, 2012. DIY "play pretend" lamp for American Girl doll. There are definately flows in this process, but my little one likes it just the same. Half of a ribbon spool, the cardboard part. Paper- for base and for shade. String and beads for the lamp pull. Marble rocks for helping the lamp stay upright. Paper circles to stop holes, and keep the marble in. In hind sight, I needed another ring of paper to cover up the top of the lamp so the price tag doesn't show :D). I aske...

The craft at hand: Garden Party Baby Shower

http://thecraftathand.blogspot.com/2012/01/garden-party-baby-shower.html

The craft at hand. Thursday, January 19, 2012. Garden Party Baby Shower. For the baby showers that I throw I try to make decorations for the shower that could be moved straight to the nursery. Here are a few pictures of the last shower that I threw, I even borrowed pictures from the mommy to be of her nursery with the baby shower elements incorporated into its decor. Butterfly mobile made with fabric ruffle, embroidery hoops, fishing line and punched paper butterflies. Open face cucumber sandwiches.

The craft at hand: October 2011

http://thecraftathand.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

The craft at hand. Monday, October 10, 2011. I made the curtains, tie back bows, pillows and pumpkins in the window. Added art work, ignore the orange hiney. Made the pillows, art work and book worm. The pillows used to be blue, and brown, some homemade other purchased. I stole the stuffing from the homemade ones and made slip covers for the ones I had purchased. Artwork from a previous do it myself job. A light coat of primer really softened it. I almost left it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A while back...

The craft at hand. Monday, November 21, 2011. An apron from a men's dress shirt. What is that saying? Necessity is the mother of invention"? A while back, I bought several men’s dress shirts with the idea that I would turn them into shirt dresses for my kids. But that was to my benefit this time, as I really needed an apron for my craft fair that I had signed up for to promote my business. Here’s what I came up with for my aprons. It was fairly simple, just seam rip carefully. Shirts for my kids. I try t...

The craft at hand: December 2011

http://thecraftathand.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

The craft at hand. Saturday, December 17, 2011. Hair pretty from a present bow. Received this present bow on a gift for my daughter, and reused it once on another gift for her, then I made it into a hair clip that we cliped onto a present for another little girl. And the bow lives on. Glue felt circle to bow, then hot glue the clip to the felt circle. I had made an owl silloutte too, however, I forgot to take a picture. Thursday, December 8, 2011. The Craft-Arty Kid (Old blog)

Tuesday, 14 January 2014. This Blog is Moving! That's right, after four years of The Craft-Arty Kid I feel I've out-grown the name - or at least I'm trying to! I will now be blogging at. It's basically the same blog with a different name and address. I've imported all of the posts from this blog to the new one so we can just pick up where we left off. Public service announcement; if you have a blog that you haven't updated for years and don't intend to, delete it to free up the name for someone else!
