Reya and Rithik: What's in a name? Apparantly a lot!
http://reyaandrithik.blogspot.com/2011/01/whats-in-name-apparantly-lot.html
Thursday, January 20, 2011. What's in a name? When William Shakespeare wrote "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.", he was WRONG! Apparantly there is a LOT in the name. I mean, if names didn't mean anything, why don't we see more Duryodhanas, Prans (top Bollywood villain of his time), Hitlers, Voldemorts etc. around? That is exactly what hubby and I hoped when we named our kids Reya and Rithik. Fast forward 4 years. We were expecting our second one....

Reya and Rithik: Musical beds!
http://reyaandrithik.blogspot.com/2010/08/musical-beds.html
Monday, August 2, 2010. People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one.— Leo Burke. I have never been lucky enough to sleep easily. even before I had babies, I always found it hard to sleep. After having babies, I found it even harder. Earlier, I was never too tired to sleep or had a lot on my mind, I laughed at people that took day-time naps, and always had energy to stay awake the whole night if needed. But of course, we are a family that plays musical beds at night. It is played at night.

After folding all the clothes, I was yet again left with a bunch of single socks waiting for their partner. This happens each week. This is the main reason why I always preferred buying plain white socks all these years. anyone can be paired with any other one. but Reya and Rithik plead me to buy colorful socks and now when I do, I have this mess. That's detective Shilpa for you. LOL!

Reya and Rithik: Thoughtful Tuesdays - Promises
http://reyaandrithik.blogspot.com/2012/08/thoughtful-tuesdays-promises.html
Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Thoughtful Tuesdays - Promises. A promise is a cloud; fulfillment is rain. Arabian Proverb. I remember the conversation I had with Reya one time. I was persuading the then 5 year old to try the Polenta I made and she was worried that it would be spicy. I assured her that it was not. She said. I will try it because you say it is not spicy, but if it is, I will not trust you again". After taking a bite she said. OK I will trust you again". Fast forward 2 years. I had cleared t...

Reya and Rithik: September 2011
http://reyaandrithik.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Autumn, Queen of year. Each week, Reya's class has a "sharing" session which is essentially a public speaking session. A topic is assigned each wee and this week the topic is a Fall poem. We looked and looked for a poem that was easy for a 7 year old to memorize and would encompass all that Autumn brings us. and this is what we found! Autumn, Queen of year. When the pumpkins are so yellow. And the vines with grapes abound,. When the melons are so mellow. Until next time,.

Reya and Rithik: Masaala dibba
http://reyaandrithik.blogspot.com/2012/01/masaala-dibba.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. It is no secret that I am a fan of Lock n Lock. I go all giggly and happy when I have a new Lock n Lock product in my hand. and my family thinks this obsession will stay for some time until replaced with something else. Being of Indian descent, I have a special affinity for any "masaledani", "masale ka dibba" or spice kit in plain English. When I was little, it was one of my chores to refill the dabba once a spice ran out. Posted by Shilpa Vir speaks! January 31, 2012 at 4:06 AM.
