Our family's adventures. First Day of School. Sam was really excited to start 1st grade at South School. A few days before the start of school, the class lists are posted at the school. I find this a little odd. We always knew who our next teacher was on the last day of school. She found out she was in Mrs. Marquis’ class and had a bunch of friends from kindergarten joining her. Sara’s classroom placement came in the mail. It was down pouring the first day so I got very few pictures. First Day of School.

Swimming | the daniels daze

Our family's adventures. I’ve thoroughly been enjoying my 3 day work weeks – Tuesday through Thursday, but 4th of July week I had to work Monday and Tuesday which gave me Wednesday the 4th through the following Monday off! It was like a mini stay-cation! We did a lot of swimming at the beach and friends’ pools. I don’t tend to take many pictures while all 3 kids are in the water, but I did work up the courage when we had Aunty Sue’s pool to ourselves. Sara has gotten brave and will now jump in by herself.

Our family's adventures. Father’s Day 2012. The kids and I let Brian sleep in on Father’s Day, then made him breakfast. After breakfast, the kids gave them the cards that they worked very hard on! Our family's adventures. Sara turned 5 on 7/13. She was very excited when she woke up! I really wanted to have a “whatever Sara says, goes” type of day, but I ended up having jury duty that day. So we let her open all her birthday presents in the morning and I made her heart-shaped pancakes with pink sprinkles for breakfast. We got her two pairs of cute earrings since she always wears the same studs. She loved them! She came right over and gave me the biggest hug and thanked me so genuinely. Aug 24, 2012.

Goal #1 Accomplished: 5K finished! I have been running pretty consistently in May and this past week I ran 3.5 miles several times and I felt good after running so I knew I was ready. Brendan and the kids were going to come cheer me on. I made Lisa take a photo in front of the finish before the race started. :). We walked 0.8 miles to the actual start and at 11am we were off! I usually roast our beets and just enjoy them that way. I did, however, do some searching for new beet recipes. I found this recipe and gave it a try. We all really enjoyed it. I haven't done too much with risotto so I was a little nervous that it would turn out mushy. To my surprise it didn't! 4 cups of vegetable broth. 1 tsp garlic, minced.

The Foods We Love. Monday, June 21, 2010. I figured that I should probably post our favorite meal, and perhaps the healthiest one. We have Smoothies every other night for the last couple weeks for dinner. They are so delicious they are two-straw worthy. Here are the basic ingredients, give or take what we have on hand:. 1 scoop of frozen OJ concentrate (I always have one in the freezer as the designated smoothie OJ). 2-4 Cups fresh spinach. A couple leaves of Kale. 1 cup or so of frozen strawberries.
