Tuesday, August 4, 2009. So I went and saw the Kaiser Chiefs and Green Day in concert a few days ago. Great concert! Never heard the Kaiser Chiefs before and I gotta say, they have a fun front man; incredible energy and stage presence. So while everyone else was rocking hardcore, I was taking mental snapshots and then drew this up when I got home. Hopefully I can figure out a fun way to color and an easy way to fake stage lights. A friend and I had an idea for an all-ages space adventure series called Space Heroes: Kachow! In college, I had a couple projects to do multi-page stories with my own script, so I took the opportunity to work with the characters and try my hand at it. Is an attempt at a Chapter 1 for the series. We meet the crew and get the premise, and get a slight feel for the characters. And then in a cover art design class, I imagined a slipcase for an Oni Press collected edition of the series.
