A TALE OF TWO CITIES = =. Thursday, August 15, 2013. Monticello (not the one in Utah). A couple weekends ago, Rod and I took a day trip to visit "Monticello", the home of Thomas Jefferson (he was referred to as "TJ" a few times on the tour) in Charlottesville, VA. We never figured out who Charlottesville is named for, but we had a really nice time visiting the house and the gardens. Here we are (I'm the one on the left, wink, wink). The weather was great, and we had a really nice time!

These pictures are not quite in order, because I posted about the funeral earlier, but here are some of our pre-halloween festivities including pumpkin patches,pumpkin carvings, and. We had a wild weekend the week before Halloween. Some friends rented a cabin up in Nederland and threw our annual wild Halloween party, then came back on Saturday night for our ward Trunk or Treat. I made our trunk into an Alice in Wonderland Mad Tea Party theme.

Tim, Tanaya, Ty, and Lucy. Thursday, September 18, 2014. Southern Road Trip Part 3: Alabama. Next stop was Montgomery, Alabama. We drove the route of the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965. Montgomery was a nice town. In the morning, Tim and I went on a run around the town. We went down to the river then came up the main street which has the stop where Rosa Parks got on her bus, the church Dr Martin Luther King gave his speech, and the Capital. Tim, Tanaya, Ty, and Lucy. Saturday, July 12, 2014. We went to the open house for our new fire station. They had cake, balloons, and lots of trucks out! It was so great because it wasn't crowded like most of the city events. Ty was in heaven! I love this picture-so happy! Ty is obsessed with "shoot the water." Anything and everything long and skinny becomes a fire hose at our house. Here he is with a real fire hose! Then he actually got to shoot the water! The real reason we go to the zoo.
