theDishesCanWait: March 2008

http://thedishescanwait.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 31, 2008. Bruges, I imagine, is a quite charming town when it’s not raining and bitter cold. I bet the town cleans up nicely in the summer, when the parks are full and the few canals are lined with green, and newborn ducklings waddle after their mother in single “awww”-inspiring file. I shivered twice – only the first time because of the cold. I don’t know – to me, Bruges lacks personality. So I’ll go have another pint of Brugse Zot in the downstairs bar, listen to the college student...

theDishesCanWait: but i've never seen anything quite like this

http://thedishescanwait.blogspot.com/2008/05/but-ive-never-seen-anything-quite-like.html

Monday, May 12, 2008. But i've never seen anything quite like this. Granada is a beautiful city. The most beautiful I have seen on the trip so far – perhaps the most beautiful I have ever seen. These pictures hardly do any of it justice – but hopefully they are enough to inspire a trip, at some point, to Granada. I don't think I've seen a picture yet from your travels that don't inspire a trip. Where do I sign up? May 13, 2008 at 1:44 PM. May 13, 2008 at 6:46 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

theDishesCanWait: day trippers

http://thedishescanwait.blogspot.com/2008/05/day-trippers.html

Monday, May 12, 2008. Looking back on things, it seems that I’ve – with the exception of Florence – failed to mention any of the daytrips we’ve taken. There have been three – to Versailles, Mont St. Michel, and Altea. So there you have it. The daytrips. Those yellow chairs look sooo.uncomfortable. Loved the giant delivery man image. From your picture, the whole thing does look like it was dropped there unintentionally. May 13, 2008 at 6:43 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Baby you can drive my car.

theDishesCanWait: April 2008

http://thedishescanwait.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Sorry for the rant. There aren’t very many things in this world that I actively hate. I don’t like complaining about the small things because, well – what’s the point. The cliché is cliché for a reason – because it’s true: life. But there is one thing that I absolutely loathe – that I detest, that I… yes, I’ll say it: that I. That one thing is disrespect. Disrespect, specifically, for art. But oh – there are some… some. 8230; some… boy, it. Opening of the House of Augustus, a b...

Soapboxes: The Fuzz are after me!

http://chris-soapboxes.blogspot.com/2009/01/fuzz-are-after-me.html

How society should operate. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. The Fuzz are after me! So I got pulled over on my way to work the other day. It was at 5:30 in the morning and I was the only one on the road. It was on one of those streets that is 5 lanes wide and you look back and go "that was 35 mph there? Everyone knows one of those roads. I was 7 mph over. Lights flash, I pull over. The officer walks up, shining his light in my eyes. Where are you going so fast? As if I was flying down the autobahn.).

Occasionally comments will be made to offer constructive criticisinm or feedback. First of all - can you really say that someone has bad breath based on one shift? On the other hand, maybe your evals. Also, ar...

How society should operate. Monday, March 2, 2009. Things I once thought were healthy. In the end, a final conclusion was never reached. But I will concede that there are a lot of things out there that I once thought were healthy and probably aren't. 2) REAL FRUIT JUICE - even 100% fruit juice is apparently bad for you. Whatever. People have been drinking glasses of OJ every morning since the dawn of mankind. And I've never seen an obese neanderthal. 4) BAGELS- see prologue. 6) BACON - apparently no one ...

How society should operate. Monday, January 19, 2009. Now before all of my long-lost friends pick up pitchforks and storm the Charlotte area thinking "what an idiot - he never calls or emails anyways," I will concede you that small, minuscule, and largely irrelevant point. I will also admit that the basic idea of facebook is kinda neat. Here's my problem. This monster has gotten way past the basics and is consuming peoples' entire lives. I tell you. "How," you may ask? What does that even mean? It's fine...

The Dishes Project

Sunday, May 15, 2011. I grew up in the suburbs, and unsurprisingly there was a mall in the neighboring town. I spent the most time at the Rave clothing store and in Waldenbooks. Both of which have long since gone out of business. The place to go for your best 90's style was Contempo Casuals (bought out years later by Wet Seal. And they had a giant screen behind the check-out desk where they played music videos. I do get a special kick out of Teachers. Since it's a list song. Thanks, Stephen Sondheim.

The Disheveled Catholic Mom | An Incredibly Blessed Life

An Incredibly Blessed Life. The Disheveled Catholic Mom. Discovering the Joy in Parenting. Disheveled comes to mind when I think of parenting. Hence my blog title. It’s not the tidiest gig in the world and it certainly can be humiliating to some extent. There is no paycheck involved and, most of the time, no praise. Parenting can be lonely. Boring. Monotenous. And just plain tiring. Above that I wanted more than anything to prove to everyone I was a good parent. I will admit, I have stretch marks all ove...
