http://www.gastronomicgirls.com/2012/12/fabulous-friday-cocktail-party.html
Friends Apart, Food Together. Friday, 7 December 2012. Fabulous Friday: Cocktail Party. It's really worthwhile getting good quality apple juice for this cocktail, I'm devoted to the Watergull Orchards. Juice, nice and local for my Cambridge readers (I get mine in Andrew Northrop Butchers. 3 part medium-dry apple juice. 3 parts sparking wine. 1 part lemon juice. 1 part ginger and lemongrass syrup. 16 December 2012 at 20:57. Have to say that the Apple punch was utterly fantastic ;-). So glad you liked it.

Gastronomic Girls: Cocktail Hour: Blackberry Sour

Friends Apart, Food Together. Friday, 27 September 2013. Cocktail Hour: Blackberry Sour. I have yet to reveal the outcome of my blackberry vodka experiment. But I couldn't resist using some of an older batch to knock up a quick cocktail last Friday. A chance conversation with the lovely Deepa. On twitter got me thinking about sours. I had recommended them to her as a quick cocktail to use her blackcurrant vodka and the more I thought about it the more I wanted one too. And his wonderful orange bitters.

Gastronomic Girls: Blackberry Vodka Experiment - The Results

Friends Apart, Food Together. Friday, 18 October 2013. Blackberry Vodka Experiment - The Results. It's finally time to reveal the results of my blackberry vodka experiment. To help me taste the vodkas. Smirnoff and Ketel One were both quite disappointing, the real winner in this experiment was the Tamova, the "premium" Aldi brand. This stood up really well to Grey Goose and was the favourite of at least one of the tasters. Tamova is the same abv (40%) as Grey Goose but less than half the price. Blackberr...

Friends Apart, Food Together. Thursday, 29 August 2013. Cocktail Hour Nibbles: Salt and Smoked Paprika Kale Crisps. A slice of lime in it! While I usually don't have too much trouble resisting sweet treats when I'm on a health fix it's a totally different situation when crisps are involved. Carbs are not my friend but I can't resist the savoury crunch of some tortilla chips or a packet of Tayto. I needed an alternative snack that still gave me that satisfying crunch and salty kick. 200g bag of curly kale.

Friends Apart, Food Together. Saturday, 16 November 2013. Sloe and Rose Hip Hedgerow Sour. More seriously, the fact that in 20 minutes I can walk from an industrial road in a large town to a beautiful open space with hedgerows full of foragable food is proof that foraging is not confined to those living the dream life in the country. I wrote last Autumn about making rose hip cordial. 60mL sloe gin or vodka. 30mL fresh lemon juice. 15mL rose hip cordial. Frozen sloes to garnish. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Gastronomic Girls: Foraged Food: Rosehip Syrup
http://www.gastronomicgirls.com/2012/09/foraged-food-rosehip-syrup.html
Friends Apart, Food Together. Wednesday, 26 September 2012. Foraged Food: Rosehip Syrup. I've been trying to expand my foraging repertoire this year. I always do nettles. In the spring and I usually do blackberries and sloes in the Autumn. I managed to get it together in time to do something with elderflowers. Autumn sky over the allotments. Back in the kitchen, another mind-numbing 15 minutes was spent getting all the little stalks off the hips, I had to resort to a nip or two of my rhubarb vodka. Fabul...

Gastronomic Girls: Fabulous Friday: Cocktail Hour
http://www.gastronomicgirls.com/2013/01/fabulous-friday-cocktail-hour_18.html
Friends Apart, Food Together. Friday, 18 January 2013. Fabulous Friday: Cocktail Hour. Just before we set off for Ireland in December, I set up a little experiment. I shoved the left over Christmas pudding. Cream and whiskey are the natural accompaniments to Christmas pudding. The orange brought to mind my Christmas stocking and the ginger syrup was a lucky left-over found in the back of the fridge. This cocktail jazzed me up considerably on a snowy January afternoon. 30 mL Christmas pudding vodka. It di...

Gastronomic Girls: Foraged Food: Blackberry Vodka
http://www.gastronomicgirls.com/2013/09/foraged-food-blackberry-vodka.html
Friends Apart, Food Together. Friday, 20 September 2013. Foraged Food: Blackberry Vodka. We've got plenty, we've got blackberries coming out our arses at this stage." Ah, foraging with The Husband, a marriage of poetry and nature. Get out of that nettle patch, we have plenty of the bloody things." Just a few more, i just need a few more. This time last year, Rachel was busy making blackberry vodka. I picked five vodkas which I hope covers most of the price points in the vodka market. The vodkas chose...
