We had his birthday party the weekend before his birthday (on the following Thursday). And on his actual birthday he got to open a couple more gifts I saved - and then we also had a little mini party at his daycare! I took cupcakes to his class after nap time and we all sang Happy Birthday! I think he's had a great time celebrating his special day!

Monday, June 13, 2011. For the past several weeks, I've known that Holston was getting too big for his bouncy seat. Partly for the fact that it nearly drops to the ground when he sits in it.AND secondly because he now sits in it like this:. I don't buckle him in it because the buckles will barely latch around his waist! Thursday, April 12, 2012. To finish off our almost-perfect day on Tuesday, H got his first busted lip.and from all things, simply walking through the kitchen! I don't even know how or why he fell. There was nothing that he tripped on, but I knew immediately he was hurt. There's no mistaking the "real cry"! After the initial shock of it, he was fine. Fortunately it wasn't a bad "bust". Wednesday, October 24, 2012. We finally made it to the pumpkin patch the past weekend. H's favorite part, by far, was the hay ride - he's all into tractors right now - so he ate it up that he was getting to ride behind one! I love this picture of H and his Daddy standing in line. Thursday, August 2, 2012. I came across a yummy looking picture on Pinterest not too long ago. The link didn't actually work, but it had this recipe in the comment section. I finally tried out the recipe this week and I am so glad I did. This is SO easy, ONE DISH to clean, and very tasty! I am calling it the One Dish (Chicken) Meal. Take a 9x13 casserole dish and line 6 boneless, skinless chicken breast down the center. Open 2 or 3 cans of cut green beans, drain them and pour on one side of the chicken.

August 9, 2015. The first of August. He begins to let his body slump into mine as we walk. The warmth of our body's tucked closely together, it's sweaty. It's good. Not quite asleep yet, he grabs for leaves on the trees we pass. I pause and let him touch and feel them. We follow the warn tractor paths. Paths used for decades and decades to cut the hay, to gather firewood, to reach the woods.
