the hungry sister

Friday, 26 August 2011. Minetta Tavern - NYC. 113 MacDougal St., New York, NY 10012. Wow, what a history. Since 1937, this tavern has been. Frequented by various layabouts and hangers-on (aka poets and writers) including Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, Eugene O'Neill, E. E. ********, Dylan Thomas. Next up was the Lamb special with seasonal vegetables ($38). The lamb was so superbly tender that it literally melted on my tongue. The pommes (potato) gratin side was super crunchy in the right places an...This ...

the hungry sister: Colicchio and Sons - NYC

http://thehungrysister.blogspot.com/2011/08/colicchio-and-sons-nyc.html

Friday, 26 August 2011. Colicchio and Sons - NYC. 85 Tenth Avenue
(at the corner of 15th Street). New York, NY 10011. This restaurant was disappointing to say the least. Despite the number of kitchen and wait-staff on hand, as we are quickly learning here in NYC, this does not necessarily equate to a great experience. Sister-chef KM and the industry crew had arrived in NYC that night and unfortunately this provided a sub-standard first impression of the NYC dining scene. In a nutshell, it was beige food.

the hungry sister: The Spotted Pig

http://thehungrysister.blogspot.com/2011/08/spotted-pig.html

Sunday, 21 August 2011. The Spotted Pig - a gastropub in the West Village. 314 W 11th Street. New York, NY 10014. So, I'm in NYC and it's my first 'awake' night, sans jet lag which I cast off by surrendering myself to my horizontal bed (Yay! For a 12 hour soothing and long-awaited shut-eye session. The Spotted Pig was first recommended by my. Friend ADHD, and also H, the edgy-jewellery girl who I get along famously with at The Standard where I'm staying. The fact that this gastropub's. Well it was to die...

the hungry sister: Good pizza over bad sex

http://thehungrysister.blogspot.com/2011/08/good-pizza-over-bad-sex.html

Monday, 15 August 2011. Good pizza over bad sex. Whilst slurping our miso soup, the three of us likened our pizza experience to good and bad sex? Good sex – well, you know, is great sex with a happy ending. Bad sex is nothing more that an awkward waste-of-time. A fester of embarrassing frustration soaked in feelings of regret best avoided at all costs. Time, we agreed, much better spent eating good pizza! 31 August 2011 at 03:28. Or a big block of choc yeh yeh ;-). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Here we are, the end of the year. I have to say, 2014 did not turn out the way I had planned it back in December of 2013. I imagined I’d be writing like the wind by now, instead, I spent my year on personal reflection and in therapy. I don’t regret a thing. 1 Spend more time on me – I’m including journaling, art, walking and weight loss, actually getting my hair cut when I need to, not when I can’t stand my hair anymore. These things I neglect when I get in to a self-destructive spi...A book published in...
