There are B-sides to every story. The mosquito who feeds on joy bit me big time today, sucked long and hard, and barely got airborne it was so full of nourishment. Run With Tom: Philly Distance Run - 9/21/08
http://runwithtom.blogspot.com/2008/09/philly-distance-run-92108.html
A blog about aspiring to be the best dad, husband, and runner I can be. Monday, September 22, 2008. Philly Distance Run - 9/21/08. This Sunday was the Philly Distance Run. This was my 3rd time running the PDR and my 3rd HM. My goals going in were to PR and run 1:15. Also ran this race as her first HM with a local friend - Alexis. Both got their goal with and both PR'd with a 1:55. I am so excited and proud of them both! The plan worked and around mile 8 I caught the guy. Looking at my splits now, it ...

sauconRunner: Run Reviews
http://sauconrunner.blogspot.com/2015/07/run-reviews.html
Run - Dream - Explore - Love. The program I am doing is C25K in 14 days. Probably a little aggressive given my current fitness level but the typical C25k's progress too slow and I end up doubling them anyway. The second run I did at home, the workout consisted of a 5 min walk then 2 minute jog, 1 minute run, 2 minute walk intervals 4x's. The first round was easy, 2nd harder, 3rd easier and 4th brutal. Still feel like a whale, slow as dirt but had on my Asics and my feet felt better. Prince Liam the Brave.

A cool little book club in Evanston. Freedom February 22, 2011. The Irresistible Henry House April 26 2011 →. Just my final thoughts on the ending of Amy Bloom’s ‘Away’. March 23, 2011. Okay, remember how I said at the meeting last night that I hadn’t finished the book? Well I have now, and I sort of wish I hadn’t bothered! After really quite enjoying the first three-quarters of the book, I felt really cheated. And I’m even a little angry about it right now. So much for this Amy Bloom. ...The Irresistibl...

Friday, April 17, 2009. While I am not currently training for a triathlon, I am still interested in tri-training, because I plan to resume tri-training in the future, maybe as soon as 2010 ramping up for another IM in 2011. I just read an article on training volume. That sounded interesting. The concept being discussed is why many age-groupers hit "the wall". Jesse explains his theory of the volume required to avoid what he terms System Failure. Swim – 9/3 of the event distance, per week. That's me next ...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Tech Tuesday - Mid year review. I have been neglecting my blogging as of late. I apologize, but will not give excuses, even though I have plenty. Suffice it to say that there are more important things in life than blogging. Since we are half-way through the year, I thought a quick review would be a good idea to see what I have done this year that make me a better Dad, husband, employee, etc. So, what about you? Any progress on your annual goals? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Other B...

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Epic Ride (sort of). It was beneath an overcast post-dawn sky that this epic ride was started. OK, maybe most people wouldn't consider it an Epic Ride. Alright, I wouldn't even have considered this an epic ride a few years ago, but hey, I just doubled my 2009 bike mileage in a single morning. Pretty embarrassing to admit that my total logged bike miles for 2009 was 4. It did feel good to get out for a bit over 30 min this morning and I hope to get more rides real soon.

Friday, May 28, 2010. CAN - step - step - step - CAN. Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells 'CAN'T", but you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper 'can'. And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really a. In 60 seconds, I was ready to run again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my favorite links. Saturday, July 18, 2009. I went for a run last night. I didn't track my time (even took my watch off). I didn't track my distance (didn't even bring my Garmin with me). But it was still the best run I have had in a very long time. I got home after work and knew I needed. A run It was 110 outside and a dust and wind storm were on the horizon, but I didn't care. Status very much. I finally decided that heat warning or not, I was going running. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my favorite links.
