http://sweethomeyerushalayim.blogspot.com/2010/04/let-your-children-go.html
Let Your Children Go. April 19, 2010. Dear Friends and Family,. Life has settled back into routine after a wonderful Pesach holiday. B”H our children were all home and we had a great time, and especially loved the gift of getting to know our new precious granddaughter, bli ayin hara. I think that except for “yeshiva couples,” Israel is not seen as a viable alternative to "getting on on with life" in America after learning here post high school. Pesach made us the Nation of Israel. I shy away from being &...

Sweet Home Yerushalayim: The Unpredictability of Reliability
http://sweethomeyerushalayim.blogspot.com/2010/09/unpredictability-of-reliability.html
The Unpredictability of Reliability. September 7, 2010. Dear Friends and Family,. With so many people out and about, I’m sure to run into someone I haven’t seen in a while. So a chance meeting with Naomi last Shabbat was no surprise. Neither was the content of our conversation. After a year here, she’s longing for the more predictable life and reliable parnass. Not surprising at all. In Israel, most things having to do with this material world are riddled with confusion and difficulty. It’s...I didn̵...

http://sweethomeyerushalayim.blogspot.com/2008/10/isru-chag.html
Sivan 7, 5767. May 24, 2007. Article, puts it: Isru Chag “is like the gift shop at the end of a museum tour - in a sense, we need to buy some postcards with which to remember our stay. That way, we can take with us those feelings even after the festival has left us.”. Today, here in Israel, I saw Isru Chag in action, and as the day went on, became a part of it, too. I bring home a postcard to share with you. I, however-oblivious to the sanctity they were bringing into the day-had errands. 4 A Few Days IN.

Sweet Home Yerushalayim: Praying for Rain
http://sweethomeyerushalayim.blogspot.com/2009/10/praying-for-rain.html
October 1, 2009. Dear Friends and Family,. This Yom Tov season marks our third in Eretz Yisrael. At the end of this third year, we will no longer be “olim chadashim,” new immigrants. Our benefits will be mostly over and we will be counted among the “vatikim,” or old-timers. They say that. You are ready to be vatikim when you can help the olim chadashim become more settled. This summer we had the awesome opportunity to see 500 families make aliya and help just a few of them. All those “things”...It is not...

http://sweethomeyerushalayim.blogspot.com/2008/10/bh-dear-friends-and-family-many-of-you.html
A Few Days In. May 15, 2007. Dear friends and family,. In between all the stuff we have get done first in order to stay here, we do the things that are the reason we want to be here. A very friendly woman answered the phone and took him through it all; step by step and address by address, including directions. She told him all the documents we’d need and why we had to go to each place. Once at the window,...
